The Indianapolis Star reports the Colts have "discussed" placing DT Arthur Jones (ankle) on injured reserve/designated for return.

Jones injured his ankle in the Colts' third preseason game over the weekend and is seeking multiple opinions from doctors. It would be a big loss for the Colts after he missed seven games and parts of others last season with an ankle injury. Signed to a $33 million deal last offseason, Jones was expected to be the anchor of the defensive line both as a pass rusher and in run defense.

Garry Gilliam is expected to be the Seahawks' starting right tackle.

The same five-man unit -- LT Russell Okung, LG Justin Britt, C Drew Nowak, RG J.R. Sweezy, and RT Gilliam -- has been running with the first-team offense the past two weeks. Gilliam replaced Britt at right tackle, kicking the 2014 second-rounder to left guard. Gilliam played 80 snaps as a rookie last season.

According to ESPN Jets reporter Rich Cimini, the team is "smitten" with second-year WR Quincy Enunwa.

Coach Todd Bowles called the 2014 sixth-round pick a "tweener" due to his 6'6/225 size and above-average blocking skills for a receiver. With Jace Amaro (shoulder) done for the season, Enunwa could have a real role on offense. OC Chan Gailey used four-receiver sets on a league-high 586 snaps from 2010-2012 in Buffalo. Enunwa and Brandon Marshall make for ideal slot players.

Saints placed CB P.J. Williams on injured reserve with a torn hamstring, ending his season.

Williams was the 78th overall pick in this year's draft. He was unlikely to see the field much in year one behind starters Keenan Lewis and Brandon Browner in addition to reserve Delvin Breaux. Williams will be ready next offseason.

The Broncos believe Emmanuel Sanders is game ready despite missing a large chunk of training camp with a hamstring injury.

He's resumed practicing at full speed. "I think we went about it the right way," coach Gary Kubiak said of the Broncos' conservative approach with Sanders' hamstring. "There has been no setbacks. He's had good work."

Patriots placed CB Darryl Roberts (wrist) on injured reserve, ending his season.

Roberts earned first-team reps at OTAs, but got hurt about midway through training camp and will presumably require surgery. A 4.36 speedster at 6-foot, 190, Roberts was a seventh-round selection in this past May's draft.

The Fort Worth Star-Telegram suggests Joseph Randle may open the season handling 10-15 carries per game "with (Darren) McFadden slightly below that."

"At the end of the day, we’re both going to get carries however they decide to play it out," said McFadden. Both backs seem resigned to the fact that the Cowboys are committed to a running back by committee. Beat writer Drew Davison confirms none of Dallas' backs "has done enough to separate themselves from the pack." McFadden is shaping up as a dicey flex play to begin the year, while Randle will be toward the back end of RB2s. Lance Dunbar will eat into both players' production in the passing game, further muddying the situation.

Packers WR Jared Abbrederis (concussion) has resumed practicing.

After suffering multiple known concussions at Wisconsin, Abbrederis missed his 2014 rookie year with a torn ACL. He suffered another concussion in one of the first practices of training camp, and is just now getting back into the mix. Abbrederis is still on the doubtful side of questionable to make the 53.
