Larry Fitzgerald (knee) is "fine," and will start Monday's opener.

Sep 2 - 5:46 PM

49ers RG Alex Boone expects to start Sunday's opener against the Cowboys.

Boone reported only two days after holding out for the entirety of training camp and the preseason, but stayed in shape. Perhaps he'll check out for a breather or two, but Boone won't be eased in. Boone graded out as Pro Football Focus' No. 39 overall guard a season ago.
Sep 2 - 5:39 PM

49ers re-signed WR Kassim Osgood.

Osgood was released at final cuts. A core special teamer, Osgood is back after the 49ers freed up a roster spot by placing NT Glenn Dorsey (biceps) on injured reserve/designated to return.

49ers placed NT Glenn Dorsey (biceps) on injured reserve/designated to return.

Dorsey will miss at least the first eight games, but will likely be sidelined longer. It's possible he never suits up this season after going down in early August. Dorsey is under contract through 2016 after signing a two-year extension two weeks ago.
Sep 2 - 5:32 PM

Christine Michael (hamstring) remained out of Seahawks practice Tuesday.

Michael appears all but certain to miss Thursday's opener against the Packers. Robert Turbin had already secured No. 2 duties behind Marshawn Lynch before Michael's injury, but this gives him more breathing room.
Sep 2 - 5:29 PM

Chiefs placed ILB Joe Mays (wrist) on injured reserve/designated to return.

Mays is recovering from surgery after tearing a tendon in his wrist. He'll be eligible to return in Week 10. James-Michael Johnson and Josh Mauga will pick up the slack opposite Derrick Johnson while Mays recovers.
Sep 2 - 5:14 PM

Panthers signed WR Stephen Hill to the practice squad.

It's a good landing spot for the ex-Jet, though going by the words of Hill's agent following his release, he likely thought he'd land on someone's 53-man roster. Instead, it's the next best thing, as the Panthers' receiver corps is perhaps the thinnest in the league. Stone-handed and prone to nicks and bruises, there's no guarantee Hill gets the call this season.
Sep 2 - 5:09 PM

Chargers signed RB Marion Grice to the practice squad.

A sixth-round pick out of Arizona State, Grice was waived Monday. The Bolts are four deep at running back, but Grice will be the first man up if someone gets hurt.
