The Giants are hosting free agent S Stevie Brown on Sunday.

Brown should be signed quickly if he passes his physical. The Giants are desperate at safety and have familiarity with Brown, who spent the last three seasons with the organization before a failed recent stint with the Texans.

Second-round NT Eddie Goldman suffered a concussion in Saturday's preseason game against the Bengals.

The injury occurred on a five-yard run by Jeremy Hill to start the second quarter. Goldman was the favorite to start at nose tackle during Jeremiah Ratliff's three-game suspension but now it's unclear if he'll be ready for the start of the season. Ratliff hurt his left ankle Saturday and left the stadium on crutches. Terry Williams is next up on the depth chart at nose tackle.

Rookie DE Leonard Williams has a strained muscle behind his knee.

Williams didn't suffer any ligament damage and shouldn't be on the shelf for long. There's a good chance he'll be ready for the Jets' season opener September 13 versus Cleveland.

Eagles cut WR G.J. Kinne.

Kinne transitioned from quarterback to wide receiver this offseason in an effort to make the final roster. Along with Kinne, Philadelphia cut CB Marc Anthony, S Brandan Bishop, C Mike Coccia, T Kevin Graf, DE Alfy Hill, WR Mike Johnson, OLB Dasman McCullum, WR Josh Reese, DE Jeremy Towns, TE Justin Tukes and OL Jared Wheeler. The Eagles have three more players to trim before Tuesday's deadline.

Jets released WR DeVier Posey.

Posey was acquired from Houston in a draft night trade back in May. He had a quiet preseason, logging just three receptions for 21 yards.
Aug 30 - 12:28 PM

Jets released WR Austin Hill.

He snagged one catch for six yards against the Lions in the preseason opener but wasn't heard from again. Hill's NFL future looks murky after getting picked up and dropped twice in a span of three months.

Jaguars cut QB Jeff Tuel, WR Tandon Doss, CB Tommie Campbell, S Desmond Cooper, TE Connor Hamlett, P/K Kasey Redfern, DE Camaron Beard, DT Eric Crume, OL Cody Booth, OL Jack Rummells, LB Khairi Fortt and LB Mister Alexander.

The Jags had until Tuesday to get their roster down to 75, but they decided to get it over with quickly. Jeff Tuel is the most famous name on this list. Tuel Time started one game for the Bills in 2013, the only start of his career. Khairi Fortt was a fourth-round pick of the Saints in 2014. A standout at both Penn State and Cal, Fortt has dealt with knee injuries since college.

Jaguars placed DE Dante Fowler (ACL) on injured reserve.

The No. 3 overall pick this year, Fowler suffered a torn ACL on the first day of rookie minicamps less than a week after the draft. He should be 100 percent by next year's training camp. In their quest to reach 75 players before Tuesday's deadline, the Jaguars also placed T Josh Wells (thumb) on injured reserve and waived/injured WR Greg Jenkins (ankle).
