Mets manager Terry Collins said Wilmer Flores (wrist) is "fine."

Flores was lifted from Wednesday's Grapefruit League game against the Braves after taking a pitch off his lower left arm. MLB.com's Anthony DiComo says there was "nothing lingering" from the HBP.

Odubel Herrera went 3-for-4 with three steals and two runs scored to lead the Phillies to a 3-1 win over the Yankees on Wednesday.

Herrera, a .321 hitter in Double-A in the Rangers system last year, is probably the best bet of any Rule 5 pick to stick this spring. He'll likely be a reserve outfielder initially, but with the Phillies in transition and certainly open to selling off veterans, he should get an opportunity to start if he hits.
Mar 4 - 3:48 PM

Nathan Eovaldi yielded one run and two hits in two innings Wednesday in his start versus the Phillies.

Eovaldi got his one strikeout on a pretty good splitter, so that was nice to see. He also had his usual velocity today, topping out at 98 mph. The Yankees will be working with him on his offspeed stuff all spring.
Mar 4 - 3:45 PM

Carlos Beltran (elbow) will make his Grapefruit League debut on Friday.

The Yankees are understandably easing Beltran into things this spring, as he turns 38 in April and is coming back from surgery to remove loose pieces and a bone spur from his right elbow. He's hoping for better results in his second season in the Bronx.
Mar 4 - 3:42 PM

Making his exhibition debut, Alex Rodriguez singled and walked in his three plate appearances Wednesday versus the Phillies.

Rodriguez swung through Kevin Slowey's first two fastballs in the first before getting a third at 89-mph and sending a little liner into left field. He grounded out on the first pitch of his second at-bat and then walked on a full count before getting pulled for a pinch-runner in the sixth inning. Rodriguez's bat didn't exactly look fast in the game, but he came through day one just fine.
Mar 4 - 3:42 PM

Josh Harrison exited Wednesday's Grapefruit League game against the Blue Jays with left ankle discomfort.

Harrison led off the game with a single, but was later doubled off second base and then departed. No word yet on the severity of the injury. The Pirates should provide an update on his status soon.
Mar 4 - 2:35 PM

Wilmer Flores left Wednesday's Grapefruit League game against the Braves after he was hit in the wrist area by a pitch.

The severity of the injury isn't yet known, but Mets manager Terry Collins clearly didn't want to take any chances. The Mets should pass along an update soon. Ruben Tejada and Matt Reynolds are the backup options at shortstop if Flores needs to miss significant time.
Mar 4 - 2:28 PM

Charlie Blackmon is not in Wednesday's Cactus League lineup due to slight abdominal discomfort.

He's expected to take batting practice Wednesday, so it doesn't sound like something that will keep him out of the lineup for long. Blackmon is coming off a breakout season in which he batted .288/.335/.440 with 19 home runs and 28 stolen bases.
