Brian McCann tweaked his left knee during Tuesday's game.

McCann was shifting to block a pitch in the seventh inning when he said his knee "stretched a little bit" when he pushed off. He remained in the game but was moved from catcher to first base. No tests are planned as of now. "I’m just hoping I wake up tomorrow and it’s not stiff," McCann said Tuesday.

Andrelton Simmons (thumb) is hoping to return to the Braves' lineup before the end of the week.

Out with a bone bruise in his right thumb, Simmons was able to throw and field ground balls prior to Tuesday's game but has yet to resume swinging a bat. "(Trainer Jeff Porter) says if you see a bat in his hands, hit him over the head with it," manager Fredi Gonzalez said. "But he’s getting better."

Tigers recalled LHP Matt Boyd from Triple-A Toledo.

Boyd will make his Tigers debut on Wednesday against the Royals. The young southpaw was knocked around in two starts earlier this season but boasts a 1.65 ERA in 19 outings between Double- and Triple-A. He's worth a shot in AL-only leagues.

Mike Moustakas (knee) had a single in four plate appearances in his return to action Tuesday.

Moustakas hadn't played since having to leave Saturday's game following a hit by pitch in his knee. He should be OK moving forward.

Pablo Sandoval (forearm) belted a solo homer in one of his four plate appearances in his return to the lineup Tuesday.

Sandoval hadn't started since last Thursday due to a bruised left forearm. He's hitting a disappointing .259/.305/.385 with nine longballs and 35 RBI this season.

Nelson Cruz hit a homer in his fifth straight game as the Mariners cruised past the Rockies 10-4 on Tuesday.

Cruz hit a 463-foot bomb in the seventh inning, giving him 31 home runs on the year. It was also his fifth consecutive multi-hit game, raising his overall line to .323/.387/.597.
