Angels transferred catcher Rene Rivera from the 10- to the 60-day disabled list.

Rivera underwent knee surgery late last month and was slated to miss 4-6 weeks, suggesting that he didn't really need the 60 days. The Angels, though, wanted to use his 40-man roster spot for a spell, and Jose Briceno has done a nice job as a backup.

Andrew Miller (knee) rejoined the Indians after leaving the team to tend to a personal matter.

Miller is still at least 10 days away from beginning a rehab assignment, according to the team. It's possible he won't be activated until after the All-Star break.

Indians' skipper Terry Francona said Saturday that Carlos Carrasco (elbow) has been throwing long toss without issue.

Carrasco has been sidelined since June 16 when he was drilled in the elbow by a comebacker. He looks to be making tangible strides toward a return though and could conveivably rejoin the Indians' rotation before the end of June if he doesn't require a minor league rehab start.

Indians manager Terry Francona said Saturday that Danny Salazar (shoulder) has resumed throwing on flat ground.

It's the first time that he has done so since being shut down in late May, so it's a nice first step. The right-hander still appears to be a long ways away from a potential return to the Indians' rotation.

Dodgers activated LHP Clayton Kershaw from the 10-day disabled list.

He'll rejoin the Dodgers' rotation on Saturday against the Mets. The star southpaw has made just one start since May 1 due to biceps and back issues. He's expected to be on a pitch count on Saturday and may not work deep into the ballgame, so beware from a fantasy perspective.

Chris Taylor (hamstring) remains out of the Dodgers' starting lineup on Saturday.

Taylor exited Wednesday's game with tightness in his left hamstring and has yet to be cleared to return. Chase Utley is starting in his place on Saturday against Jacob deGrom and the Mets.

Orioles optioned INF Steve Wilkerson to Triple-A Norfolk.

The 26-year-old appeared in just three games during his brief stay with the Orioles, going 1-for-5 (.200) with a run scored and an RBI in six plate appearances. He should get a longer look with the O's later in the summer.

Orioles recalled LHP Donnie Hart from Triple-A Norfolk.

The 27-year-old southpaw has appeared in six games out of the Orioles' bullpen this season, registering a 1.35 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and 3/1 K/BB ratio in his 6 2/3 innings of work. He'll function in middle relief for the Orioles.
