Jenrry Mejia is slated to return to the United States in about 10 days to begin a throwing program.

Mejia was placed on the disabled list in early April due to right elbow inflammation before being handed an 80-game PED suspension. He'll be eligible to return on July 7 and Mets manager Terry Collins said Monday that they'll find a spot for him in their bullpen.

Michael Pineda improved to 7-2 after limiting the Mariners to two runs in six innings as the Yankees went on to a 7-2 victory on Monday.

Both runs scored in Pineda's final inning. He took the mound in the seventh, allowed a single, a triple, and a double before walking Brad Miller and earning a trip to the showers. He had more than enough run support. Pineda allowed seven hits, walked two, and struck out nine. He'll bring a 3.33 ERA, 1.17 WHIP, and an 80/17 K/BB ratio over 76 2/3 innings into a home start versus the Angels next.
Jun 2 - 1:39 AM

Felix Hernandez lost for only the second time this season after surrendering seven runs in 4 2/3 innings to the Yankees on Monday.

It wasn't a great outing by any means, but it was manageable until he was taken yard for a grand slam by Mark Teixeira in the fifth inning. Hernandez allowed six hits, walked five, and struck out four. It's a small blip in what has otherwise been a typically great season. Hernandez is 8-2 with a 2.63 ERA, a 0.98 WHIP, and a 75/20 K/BB ratio in 75 1/3 innings. He'll try to bounce back over the weekend at home against the Rays.
Jun 2 - 1:36 AM

Alex Rodriguez extended his hitting streak to 11 games, going 1-for-3 with a walk as the Yankees topped the Mariners on Monday.

Rodriguez singled in the fifth inning to keep the streak alive, and came around to score on Mark Teixeira's grand slam. His next home run will be the 666th of his career. He's hitting .282/.372/.541 with 11 home runs and 27 RBI so far this season.
Jun 2 - 1:32 AM

Mark Teixeira walked and hit a grand slam in four plate appearances Monday, leading the Yankees past the Mariners.

Teixeira knocked ace Felix Hernandez out of the game with his fifth-inning grand slam. At the rate he's going, he'll reach 30 home runs in a season for the first time since 2011. He's at 15 now along with 39 RBI and a .241/.358/.566 batting line.
Jun 2 - 1:28 AM

Garrett Richards got his fifth win of the season, holding the Rays to three runs in six innings Monday as the Angels earned a 7-3 victory.

The three runs came on a Joey Butler RBI single in the third inning and a Nick Franklin two-run home run in the fourth, accounting for two of the six hits Richards yielded on the evening. He also walked three and struck out four. Richards stands with a productive 3.26 ERA, 1.21 WHIP, and 47/24 K/BB ratio over 58 innings. He'll take on the Yankees in a road start next.
Jun 2 - 1:25 AM

Alex Colome lost on Monday against the Angels after giving up five runs in six innings.

Colome was hurt by the long ball, as all five runs came on three home runs. The first was a David Freese homer to left field. The second plated three runs via Mike Trout, and the third was a solo blast from Albert Pujols. Colome allowed nine hits in total while walking three and striking out five. Despite a 5.05 ERA, he's been more good than bad on the mound thus far, but he doesn't have any fantasy value. Colome starts next in Seattle against the Mariners.
Jun 2 - 1:19 AM

Nick Franklin hit his first home run of the season in a losing effort against the Angels on Monday.

Franklin had gone 2-for-29 in his first 11 games since being activated from the disabled list, so it was nice to see him have some success at the dish. He went 1-for-4 on the night.
