The Dolphins made DB Walt Aikens a healthy scratch in Week 17 for a violation of team rules.

Aikens was expected to be a core contributor in Sunday's loss to the Jets. Instead, he didn't play at all. Primarily a special teamer, Aikens did earn defensive snaps down the stretch of his rookie season. There are no indications that Aiken's rules violation is a concern for his long-term outlook in Miami.

Levine Toilolo caught two passes for 14 yards in the Falcons' Week 17 loss to the Panthers.

Mainly a blocker, Toilolo wraps up his sophomore season with 31 catches for 238 yards and two touchdowns. Some pegged Toilolo as a potential sleeper who was filling Tony Gonzalez's shoes, but Toilolo predictably was kept in an inline-blocking role. He'll come back to fill the same role in 2015. Expect the Falcons to try and find a pass-catching tight end for Matt Ryan this offseason.

Wes Welker caught two passes for 42 yards in Sunday's Week 17 win over the Raiders.

Welker saw just two targets on a day Manning attempted 37 passes. It's a fitting end to the season for the artist formerly known as the slot machine, as he averaged just 4.5 targets per game in 14 outings. Welker, now 33, is a complementary player even when Julius Thomas is limited as he has been for the last month. The Broncos have earned the AFC's No. 2 seed and a first-round bye.

Harry Douglas caught five passes for 28 yards in the Falcons' Week 17 loss to the Panthers.

Douglas ends an injury-plagued season with 51 catches for 556 yards and two touchdowns. He's proven to be very serviceable in the Falcons' pass-happy attack when called upon, but Douglas is due a non-guaranteed $3.5 million salary in 2015 as a 31-year-old. The Falcons have some wiggle room under the cap, but with so many holes on the roster and likely a new regime coming in, Douglas could find himself on the chopping block.

Jermaine Gresham suffered a lower back injury in Sunday night's Week 17 game against the Steelers.

Gresham was listed as questionable, but was able to return. He only ended up missing the first quarter.

Emmanuel Sanders caught six passes for 73 yards in Sunday's Week 17 win over the Raiders.

Sanders' hip was not an issue, but Peyton Manning's continued arm woes and a conservative Broncos offense is. After getting double-digit targets four times in the first 12 weeks, Sanders has been down at 6.2 per game for the last month. Still, Manny definitely felt the "Peyton Effect" in Year 1 as a Bronco. He played 4 years with Big Ben and career-high was 67-740-6. In first year with Peyton Manning, Sanders went 101-1404-9. The Broncos have a bye as the AFC's No. 2 seed.

Devin Hester caught four passes for 32 yards in the Falcons' Week 17 loss to the Panthers.

Signed to a three-year contract in March, we all laughed when the Falcons said they had plans to use Hester on offense. He ended up posting a four-year-high in catches (38) and five-year-high in yards (504) to go along with three touchdowns. Hester will be back as the Falcons' return man and No. 4 receiver.
Dec 28 - 9:20 PM

Kelvin Benjamin caught one pass for nine yards in the Panthers' Week 17 win over the Falcons.

He was targeted five times but had a horrible early-game drop. The Panthers were then afforded the luxury of sitting on the ball after halftime with a comfortable 24-3 lead. They went on to win it 34-3 and earn the No. 4 seed in the playoffs. Benjamin will draw Patrick Peterson and Antonio Cromartie next week. He'll run most of his routes at Cromartie, whose play has slipped in recent weeks.
