Daniel Descalso hit a three-run homer in the Diamondbacks' win over the White Sox on Monday.

Descalso opened the game's scoring with his three-run blast off White Sox starter Miguel Gonzalez in the bottom of the fourth inning. He also drew a walk in the victory but is still batting just .194/.333/.388 over 37 games this year. The utilityman carries no fantasy relevance.

Melky Cabrera went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts Monday as the White Sox lost to the Diamondbacks.

The 32-year-old outfielder is now batting just .234/.285/.310 in 40 games this season for Chicago. Melky batted .296/.345/.455 in 151 games last season.

Chris Devenski earned a win Monday with 2 2/3 innings of no-hit ball against the Tigers.

Devenski relieved spot starter Brad Peacock in the top of the fifth inning and retired all seven batters he faced on just 26 pitches to keep the Astros' shoutout alive. The 26-year-old right-hander struck out two batters and now boasts an outstanding 46/7 K/BB ratio in 27 innings this season, along with a 2.67 ERA and 0.74 WHIP.

Ken Giles nailed down his 12th save of the season Monday in the Astros' 1-0 defeat of the Tigers.

Giles struck out two of the three batters he faced in the top of the ninth inning to finish off a combined shutout that was initiated by Brad Peacock's terrific spot start. Giles has a 3.44 ERA, 1.04 WHIP, and 23/7 K/BB ratio in 18 1/3 innings this season, and he's 12-for-13 in save opportunities for the American League West-leading Astros.

Cameron Maybin went 2-for-3 with a homer, two walks and a steal to lead the Angels past the Rays 3-2 on Monday.

Maybin is 10-for-11 in steals this year. For that reason, he has mixed-league value as long as he continues to play regularly and hit somewhere near the top of the order for the Angels.
May 22 - 11:46 PM

J.C. Ramirez allowed two runs over 6 2/3 innings Monday in a win over the Rays.

Ramirez gave up homers to Corey Dickerson and Logan Morrison in the first inning, but none of the other four hits he allowed hurt him. He's cut back on the walks this month and is succeeding without racking up many strikeouts (13 in 25 2/3 innings). He's probably going to give up too many homers to keep winning with that kind of strikeout rate, but at least he has a strong defense behind him.
May 22 - 11:45 PM

Nick Castellanos finished 0-for-3 with two strikeouts in the Tigers' loss to the Astros on Monday.

The third baseman is now batting .225/.302/.391 over 43 games this season. He has just one extra-base hit since May 7. So much for that promising production in early April.
May 22 - 11:44 PM

Bud Norris recorded four outs in a one-run game for his fourth save Monday against the Rays.

Norris struck out three of the six hitters he faced. The Angels had him enter in the eighth tonight even though he had just thrown an inning Sunday. He might be unavailable Tuesday, which could lead to a save chance for David Hernandez.
