Luke Hochevar (elbow) will play catch Monday afternoon.

Hochevar was unavailable Sunday due to elbow tightness, but the Royals aren't concerned. Assuming his arm feels good, there's a chance he could be ready Monday.
May 2 - 5:00 PM

Mike Moustakas is not in Monday's lineup against the Nationals.

He's just getting the day off. Christian Colon will cover third base and bat eighth versus left-hander Gio Gonzalez.
May 2 - 4:58 PM

Ervin Santana (back) is scheduled to throw 30 pitches in a simulated game on Tuesday.

Santana landed on the disabled list late last month with a lower back strain, but he made it through a bullpen session on Sunday with no issues. It's unclear if he'll be activated when he's first eligible this weekend, but it sounds like he's not far off.
May 2 - 4:53 PM

Wilson Ramos is not in the Nationals' starting lineup Monday versus the Royals.

Ramos was activated from the bereavement list Sunday, but he's sitting for the second straight day. Jose Lobaton will catch Gio Gonzalez and bat eighth against Edinson Volquez.
May 2 - 4:42 PM

Ender Inciarte (hamstring) is expected to begin a minor league rehab assignment in the next day or two.

Inciarte, who injured his left hamstring last month, ramped up his running last week and appears ready for game action. If all goes according to plan, he could rejoin the Braves this weekend.
May 2 - 4:34 PM

Tommy Pham (oblique) is set to take batting practice Monday for the first time since landing on the disabled list.

If all goes well, Pham should begin a minor league rehab assignment later this week. The 28-year-old injured his oblique on Opening Day, but he could be back with the Cardinals in the next couple of weeks.
May 2 - 4:32 PM

Devin Mesoraco had an MRI on his ailing left shoulder.

Mesoraco has now missed four straight starts. That he needed an MRI isn't exactly the best sign. It appears that a trip to the disabled list is very possible.
May 2 - 4:22 PM

Zack Cozart (knee) is not expected to miss much time.

Cozart gave the Reds a bit of a scare when he was forced to exit Sunday's game against the Pirates with an injury to his surgically-repaired right knee, but he's merely dealing with some tendinitis and should be fine. He could play on Monday, but the Reds are understandably being cautious with him. Consider him day-to-day.
