The Dolphins will retain Dennis Hickey for 2015.

It's not a surprise, as owner Stephen Ross has already said that coach Joe Philbin will be back, and Hickey had a solid first year on the job. We don't understand Ross so quickly and publicly committing to Philbin, but Hickey's vote of confidence was earned.

Dwayne Bowe sprained his shoulder in Sunday's loss to the Steelers.

Bowe was never announced with an injury on Sunday, and played 52-of-66 snaps. It's likely a day-to-day type ailment, one he'll probably play through in this week's climatic showdown with the Chargers.

Bills released WR Mike Williams from injured reserve.

Williams is free to sign with any team, as he already passed through waivers unclaimed when he was waived/injured earlier this month. A mess off the field who has declined on it, Williams' phone isn't going to be ringing off the hook this offseason.

Nick Foles (collarbone) has been ruled out for Week 17.

Coach Chip Kelly has already said that Mark Sanchez will remain under center against the Giants, and that the team won't be turning to Matt Barkley. It means Foles closes the book on 2014 having played zero snaps after November 2, and the owner of a 13:10 TD:INT ratio and 81.4 QB rating through eight starts. Foles will enter the offseason as the favorite for 2015 duties, but the Eagles will undoubtedly search for alternatives. It's just a matter of if they can find a better option.

Coach Pete Carroll is not optimistic on Jermaine Kearse's (hamstring) status for Week 17.

Kearse pulled his hamstring during Sunday night's win over the Cardinals. The Seahawks will have to use more Paul Richardson as they try to clinch a first-round bye against the Rams.
Dec 22 - 12:54 PM

Coach Ron Rivera confirmed Cam Newton (back) emerged from Sunday's win healthy.

Newton didn't show any ill effects from his car crash against the Browns, running 12 times for 63 yards with a touchdown against the Browns. He'll be all systems go for a dream matchup against the Falcons in Week 17. When these two teams played in Atlanta Week 11, Newton threw for 292 yards and two touchdowns and ran for another 30 yards.
Dec 22 - 12:38 PM

Michael Crabtree (knee) was limited to 15 snaps in Saturday's loss to the Chargers.

Crabtree gutted it out through a questionable tag, but wasn't right and didn't want to push it in a meaningless game. He did have to come back into the overtime contest late after other members of the receiving corps got nicked up. Consider Crabtree very questionable for the finale.
Dec 22 - 12:13 PM

The NFL is looking into further discipline for Lions C Dominic Raiola.

During Sunday's Week 16 win at Chicago, FOX cameras caught Raiola stumbling and then stomping on the leg of Bears DL Ego Ferguson after a play. Raiola claims it was unintentional, but it certainly looked very dirty and we wouldn't rule out a suspension. He's already been fined $10,000 earlier this season for clubbing Patriots DL Zach Moore in the back of the head.
