Nick Franklin was ejected for arguing Saturday against the Braves.

Franklin wasn't in the lineup after leaving the previous night's game with hamstring tightness, but was thrown out by second base umpire Jerry Meals for something he said from the dugout. Apparently he was upset the Braves were allowed to challenge a pickoff play at first base after waiting longer than the allotted 30 seconds.

Yankees signed RHP Clarke Schmidt.

The 16th overall pick in this year's draft signed for $2.1843 million, which was actually less than what the Yankees paid second-round pick Matt Sauer. Schmidt underwent Tommy John surgery in April and will need at least a year to recover. He posted a 3.21 ERA in his three years at the University of South Carolina.

Carlos Gomez led the way in Saturday's 8-1 victory over the Yankees, going 1-for-3 with a homer and two RBI.

Gomez crushed a two-run homer off of Luis Cessa in the fourth inning that increased the Rangers' lead to 3-0. He also swiped a base in the contest and scored a pair of runs. He has been scorching hot since returning from the disabled list last weekend and is now hitting .262/.342/.517 with 10 homers, 29 RBI and six stolen bases on the year.

Robinson Chirinos clubbed his 10th home run of the season as the Rangers topped the Yankees on Saturday afternoon.

Chirinos tagged Jonathan Holder for a solo homer in the seventh inning. He finished the afternoon 1-for-3 and scored a pair of runs. Chirinos has done a terrific job in a reserve role, slashing .242/.333/.589 with 10 homers and 23 RBI.

Elvis Andrus went 2-for-5 with a double and two RBI as the Rangers dispatched of the Yankees on Saturday afternoon in New York.

Andrus got the Rangers on the board with an RBI single in the first inning, then added on an RBI double in the ninth. He's in the midst of an outstanding season offensively, slashing .292/.339/.440 with seven homers, 40 RBI and 18 stolen bases.

Max Kepler (foot) will be available off the bench Saturday against the Indians.

Kepler fouled a ball off his foot in the eighth inning of Friday's 5-0 victory. Luckily his X-rays came back negative and it looks like he escaped with just a bruise. Robbie Grossman is filling in at right field on Saturday with Chris Gimenez drawing a rare start in left.
Jun 24 - 4:19 PM

Austin Bibens-Dirkx was outstanding in Saturday's victory over the Yankees, surrendering just one run on five hits over seven strong innings.

The right-hander punched out three and issued one free pass on the afternoon. The only blemish on his day was a solo homer by Aaron Judge in the sixth inning. He has been incredibly inconsistent this season, but has shown flashes of brilliance while posting a 3.68 ERA and 1.01 WHIP. He'll look to replicate this fine effort when he does battle against the White Sox in Chicago on Friday.
Jun 24 - 4:17 PM

Aaron Judge blasted his 26th home run of the season on Saturday, but it wasn't enough to lead the Yankees to victory over the Rangers.

Judge's solo shot off of Austin Bibens-Dirkx in the seventh inning provided the entirety of the Yankees' offense in this one. The star outfielder finished the afternoon 1-for-4 and is now slashing .328/.434/.699 with 26 homers and 58 RBI on the season.
