Thursday's game between the Mariners and Nationals will start at 12:05 EST rather than 4:05 EST due to weather concerns.

The game has been moved up in the hopes of getting it in before the rain falls. Ariel Miranda will oppose Gio Gonzalez in the contest, assuming the weather deities do not have other plans.

Tommy Milone will not make his scheduled Saturday start against the Pirates due to an knee injury.

It is not quite clear when Milone injured his knee, but he was crushed to the tune of eight runs by the Angels in his start on Sunday. Josh Smoker is looking like a probable starter for Saturday, now.

Howie Kendrick (oblique) will play in a minimum of four games during his minor league rehab assignment.

Kendrick will be moving around from left field, third base and first base during his assignment, which is set to begin on Wednesday. He could be activated next week if he does not experience any setbacks. The veteran has not played since April 15 due to a strained oblique muscle.
May 24 - 4:45 PM

Austin Jackson (toe) will play in a minor league rehab game at Triple-A Columbus on Thursday.

Jackson is expected to just need the one rehab game before he is activated from the disabld list. He has been sidelined for the past three weeks while rehabbing a hyperextended left big toe.
May 24 - 4:41 PM

Carlos Correa is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Tigers.

Correa also sat on Tuesday, as manager A.J. Hinch is giving him a few days off to clear his head. He had been 0-for-8 with three strikeouts in his last two games. Marwin Gonzalez draws the start at shortstop in his place and is hitting second.
May 24 - 4:38 PM

Jose Bautista went 2-for-4 with a homer and two runs scored Wednesday in the Blue Jays' 8-4 defeat of the Brewers.

Bautista had a dreadful April, but he entered play Wednesday with a 1.023 OPS in May and slugged his seventh home run of the month in the top of the fourth inning. He also singled and scored on Ryan Goins' grand slam in the top of the sixth. It's been a remarkable turnaround for the veteran slugger, who was written off by many during his early-season slump. Bautista even started at third base for the Jays on Tuesday night -- his first start there since 2013.
May 24 - 4:37 PM

Kevin Pillar slugged his seventh home run of the season Wednesday in the Blue Jays' win over the Brewers.

It was a solo shot in the fourth inning off Brewers starter Matt Garza. Pillar is already up to seven home runs through just 45 games this season after totaling seven home runs over 146 games in 2016. He finished 1-for-5 in Wednesday's win at Miller Park.
May 24 - 4:30 PM

Alex Meyer (back) said that he hopes to miss just one start.

Meyer was placed on the 10-day disabled list with a back injury earlier on Wednesday. He first felt tightness during his start on Saturday, tightness which recurred during between-starts bullpen work on Tuesday. Daniel Wright will be starting in his place against the Rays on Thursday, but that may be a one-off if Meyer does not experience any setbacks over the next few days.
