Zack Cozart went 3-for-4 with a solo homer in Saturday's loss to the Cardinals.

His fifth-inning blast off Carlos Martinez was his first home run of the season and the only offense of the game for the Reds. The 29-year-old has hit safely in seven straight games and is batting .368 (14-for-38) on the young season, but with his poor plate discipline, it's unlikely to last.

Giants recalled C Andrew Susac from Triple-A Fresno.

Susac lost the backup catcher job to Hector Sanchez this spring. He probably won't be up long.

Yasiel Puig (hamstring) is back in the Dodgers' starting lineup Saturday versus the Mariners.

Puig missed three games while nursing a hamstring injury. Fortunately it wasn't serious enough to land him on the DL. Puig has been boom or bust this year, jacking two homers but also striking out seven times. Carl Crawford will head to the bench with Puig back in the lineup.

Billy Hamilton is day-to-day with a sore groin.

Hamilton tweaked a groin muscle Saturday when he leaped awkwardly over Cardinals first baseman Matt Adams after beating out a hard grounder to second base. The young speedster looked to be in a good amount of pain and can probably be ruled out for Sunday night's series finale in St. Louis.

Royals recalled INF Orlando Calixte from Triple-A Omaha.

Calixte gives the Royals some needed shortstop depth while Alcides Escobar recovers from a knee injury. Calixte, 23, is a .242/.299/.370 career hitter in the minors.

Royals optioned OF Reymond Fuentes to Triple-A Omaha.

Fuentes was only in the majors for two games. The 24-year-old is no more than organizational outfield depth.

A's trainer Nick Paparesta said Coco Crisp (elbow) could begin baseball activity on Monday.

That doesn't necessarily mean Crisp is close to a return but it's a step in the right direction. Crisp, who underwent right elbow surgery on April 3, was originally given a 6-8 week timetable. He doesn't offer much in the way of average or power but Crisp can tear up the base paths when he's healthy.

Carlos Beltran (illness) is not in the Yankees' lineup on Saturday night against the Rays.

Beltran is dealing with flu-like symptoms and might miss Sunday's game as well. The veteran outfielder has produced a weak .184/.238/.289 slash line on the young season.
