Colby Rasmus (hip) could be activated off the 60-day disabled list on Thursday.

Rasmus, who's been out since April 7 with a left hip flexor strain, is batting .256/.298/.442 with one home run and 10 strikeouts in 13 minor league rehab games between High-A Frederick and Double-A Bowie. The 31-year-old outfielder can go on being ignored in standard mixed fantasy leagues.

Rougned Odor was scratched from the Rangers' starting lineup Tuesday night against the Royals.

No reason has been given. Odor also sat out of Monday's series opener against the Royals, so something may be up here. Jurickson Profar will play second base and hit fifth versus Kansas City right-hander Jason Hammel.

Chris Tillman (back) will begin a minor league rehab assignment Wednesday with Low-A Aberdeen.

Tillman figures to make at least two starts on the farm before the Orioles consider plugging him back into their rotation. The 30-year-old right-hander had a 10.46 ERA and 2.21 WHIP through seven starts this season with Baltimore when he landed on the disabled list May 11 because of a lower back strain.

Orioles manager Buck Showalter said Tuesday that there is no plan for Chris Davis' return to the starting lineup.

Davis hasn't appeared in a game since last Monday as he continues to work through changes to his swing. Showalter would only say that Davis will not return on Wednesday. The 32-year-old first baseman is batting just .150 with a .454 OPS and 86 strikeouts in 57 games this season for Baltimore.

Richard Bleier underwent surgery for his Grade 3 left lat tear on Tuesday.

Bleier suffered the injury while throwing a pitch on June 13. He's done for the season, but it sounds like the 31-year-old southpaw will be fully healthy for the start of spring training next February. He was sporting a 1.93 ERA in 32 2/3 innings this year with the O's.
Jun 19 - 5:43 PM

Javier Baez (elbow) is starting at second base and batting second in the nightcap of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Dodgers.

Baez was a late sub into the early game, so it's no surprise that he is back in the starting lineup on Tuesday night against the Dodgers and left-hander Rich Hill. Baez took a pitch off his left elbow Sunday in the Cubs' series finale at Busch Stadium in St. Louis, but only suffered some minor bruising and swelling.
Jun 19 - 5:39 PM

Ervin Santana (finger) threw a 35-pitch bullpen session on Tuesday.

Santana worked in his entire arsenal and apparently felt good. He'll now advance to facing live hitters on Friday and could begin another minor league rehab assignment soon after. The veteran right-hander has been out all season following a February capsular release (debridement) procedure on his right middle finger.

Rangers recalled RHP Austin Bibens-Dirkx from Triple-A Round Rock.

Bibens-Dirkx will start Wednesday against the Royals in place of Yohander Mendez, who was optioned to Triple-A Round Rock on Tuesday after a violation of team rules. Bibens-Dirkx has a 6.55 ERA and 1.64 WHIP in 11 innings (two starts) this season at the major league level. He's not a good fantasy streaming option, even versus Kansas City.
