Jake Marisnick was lifted from Sunday's game versus the Rays after experiencing concussion symptoms.
Marisnick slammed hard into the outfield wall after making a catch. He initially stayed in but apparently wasn't feeling quite right. The Astros are calling his removal precautionary, but certainly when concussion symptoms are involved there's a possibility that he'll be out a while.
Kendall Graveman (shoulder) will throw another bullpen session Monday and is on track to start Thursday in Anaheim.
Graveman went on the disabled list a week ago with a shoulder injury, but the move has looked precautionary from the beginning, as the righty resumed throwing a day after going on the DL. The righty has put up a 2.00 ERA in his first three starts and should be started in deeper fantasy leagues this week.
Sonny Gray (lat) will make his next rehab start at Triple-A Nashville on Thursday.
Gray was terrific in his first outing Saturday at High-A Stockton, allowing only one hit while striking out six over five scoreless innings. He threw 47 pitches in that start and will get his pitch count up to 75 Thursday. Assuming everything goes well, Gray will rejoin the A's rotation after that.
Rob Biertempfel of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports that the Pirates have mulled Kirk Nieuwenhuis.
Nieuwenhuis was designated for assignment by the Brewers Friday and the Pirates are looking for outfield help following Starling Marte's PED suspension. However, Biertempfel notes that while Nieuwenhuis offers nice defense, the Pirates seem unlikely to go after him because of his weak bat.
Padres optioned RHP Zach Lee to Triple-A El Paso.
Lee was surprisingly effective in a spot start in Colorado earlier this month but was then roughed up in two relief outings. He'll rejoin El Paso's rotation.
Padres activated RHP Luis Perdomo from the 10-day disabled list.
Perdomo will start Sunday versus the Marlins. He had been nursing some shoulder inflammation.
Kyle Seager was scratched from the Mariners' lineup Sunday with a sore hip.
It's something that been bothering him for a few days, although Seager said he'd be available to pinch-hit so it looks like a minor issue. Mike Freeman will fill in at third base.
Angels recalled RHP Brooks Pounders from Triple-A Salt Lake.
Pounders posted a 1.64 ERA early on for Salt Lake. He'll be used in long relief.
