Rookie LB Tony Steward suffered a knee injury the Bills third preseason game.

Steward was immediately ruled out for the game. The Bills can't afford to lose Steward after Ty Powell's season-ending knee injury. Steward is the favorite to back up Nigel Bradham and Preston Brown.

Stephon Gilmore is being evaluated for a possible concussion.

Gilmore was shaken up on a collision with Steelers WR Markus Wheaton. He walked off under his own power, but was immediately taken to the locker room. Gilmore will have 15 days to get cleared for Week 1 if he gets placed in the concussion protocol.

Redskins signed LT Trent Williams to a five-year, $66 million extension.

The deal includes $43.25 million guaranteed. Williams will average $13.2 million annually, placing him ahead of Tyron Smith as the highest-paid left tackle in the league. It's the second big-money extension given out by GM Scot McCloughan after locking up OLB Ryan Kerrigan. The Redskins should have two offensive-line cornerstones to build around with Williams and No. 5 overall pick Brandon Scherff. A three-time Pro Bowler, Williams is signed through 2020, his age-32 season.

Titans rookie RB David Cobb (calf) is week to week.

Cobb should miss the rest of the preseason. He isn’t a lock to be ready for Week 1. Cobb is merely a late-round flier.

ESPN New York confirms the Jets coaching staff has downgraded Jeremy Kerley.

Reporter Rich Cimini suggests Kerley may have been "coasting" after signing a new contract, with a minor Achilles injury costing him part of OTAs. With Devin Smith sidelined, Kerley has been playing behind Chris Owusu and Quincy Enunwa in three-wide sets. Kerley’s guaranteed base-salary should secure his roster spot, but 2015 is looking like his last year with the Jets.

Khiry Robinson missed practice this week with an undisclosed injury.

The Saints don’t expect the injury to affect his Week 1 status. Robinson isn’t more than an early-down backup to Mark Ingram, though there’s rumblings C.J. Spiller (knee scope) might not be ready for the opener. Robinson should go undrafted in 12-team leagues.

Colts.com’s Kevin Bowen views rookie Josh Robinson as the No. 3 running back.

Dan Herron is Frank Gore’s backup, but Robinson has shown enough this preseason to move ahead of Vick Ballard. The Colts would figure to use a committee if Gore went down, with Robinson a candidate for short-yardage/inside work. Robinson will make Ballard or Zurlon Tipton expendable.

Dorial Green-Beckham didn’t play any snaps in the Titans third preseason game.

Green-Beckham was active after missing time with an ankle injury, but didn’t see the field. Coach Ken Whisenhunt views Green-Beckham as a work in progress, limiting his chances of making an early-season impact. The Titans slowplayed Bishop Sankey for 29-year-old Shonn Greene last year, and appear to be doing the same with DGB. Harry Douglas and a broken-down Hakeem Nicks are expected to open the year opposite Kendall Wright.
