Cubs recalled RHP Rafael Dolis from Triple-A Iowa.

He'll take the roster spot of right-hander Shawn Camp, who was placed on the disabled list with a sprained toe. Dolis has allowed two runs in 1 2/3 innings over two appearances with the Cubs this season and will pitch in middle relief.

Paul Maholm allowed just an unearned run over 7 1/3 innings in defeating the Twins on Wednesday.

Unfortunately, Maholm's two bad starts this year were really bad, because he's given up just nine earned runs in the other eight. This is the fourth time he's gone without allowing a single earned run. Overall, he's 6-4 with a 3.38 ERA.

Cubs placed RHP Shawn Camp on the 15-day disabled list with a sprained right big toe.

Rafael Dolis has been called up to replace him in the bullpen. Camp owns an ugly 7.56 ERA and 12/6 K/BB ratio across 16 2/3 innings of work this season.

Making his first start in eight days, Evan Gattis hit his first grand slam Wednesday against the Twins.

Gattis had two homers off the bench since his previous start on May 14. He has 10 homers in just 122 at-bats on the season. It's hard for the Braves to find playing time for him with Brian McCann and Jason Heyward back, but they have to do a better job than this of mixing him in.
May 22 - 3:38 PM

B.J. Upton hit his first homer since April 23 off the Twins' Vance Worley on Wednesday.

It gave him just his second RBI in May. Facing Twins pitching got B.J. going just a little; he's 3-for-7 the last two days. It's just the second time in a month that he's had three hits in a series.
May 22 - 3:37 PM

Aaron Hicks went 3-for-4 and hit his fourth homer Wednesday against the Braves.

Hicks had fallen back into a 2-for-25 slump since his two-homer game on May 13. Today's homer off Cory Rasmus was his first off a righty. He was hitting just .119 in 101 at-bats against them.
May 22 - 3:34 PM

Twins optioned RHP Vance Worley to Triple-A Rochester.

No word yet on whether Kyle Gibson will be the choice to replace him, but don't count it out. The Twins acquired Worley from the Phillies over the winter in hopes that he would be a productive member of the starting rotation, but he has been anything but. After being knocked around for eight runs in 3 2/3 innings Wednesday by the Braves, the 25-year-old has an ugly 7.21 ERA across 10 starts. If Worley can turn things around in the minors, he figures to get another chance soon.
May 22 - 3:32 PM

Adam Jones will serve as the DH for the second straight game Wednesday.

Jones tweaked his right leg during Monday's game and is banged up in general, so Orioles manager Buck Showalter is playing things safe. Chris Dickerson will make another start in center field after his two-homer night on Tuesday.
