Jets placed RB Stevan Ridley (knee) on the reserve/PUP list.
Vikings waived OG David Yankey.
Yankey was a ballyhooed college player at Stanford, but was never as good on the field as his reputation might have led some to believe. He also lacks NFL-caliber athleticism. Yankey never made a real run at a job in Minnesota.
NFL.com reports the Browns are fielding trade offers for RB Terrance West.
Packers waived LB Carl Bradford.
A 2014 fourth-round pick, Bradford couldn't get on the field as a rookie, and failed in his conversion from outside linebacker to inside linebacker. He played defensive end at Arizona State.
Ravens released WR Jeremy Butler.
Butler hauled in 10 catches for 76 yards during the preseason but couldn't climb higher than seventh on the team's depth chart. The Ravens will enter Week 1 with a receiving corps of Steve Smith Sr., Kamar Aiken, Breshad Perriman, Marlon Brown, Michael Campanaro and Darren Waller.
Eagles coach Chip Kelly said OLB Marcus Smith (hamstring) will not be placed on injured reserve/designated for return.
It is confirmation Smith both made the roster and should be back early in the season. The 2014 first-round pick played just 74 snaps his rookie year. With the Eagles lacking depth at outside linebacker, he should have a bigger role as a sophomore.
Bears waived G/T Michael Ola.
An undrafted rookie out of small-school Hampton, Ola was forced into 12 starts as a rookie. He struggled mightily. That experience should get Ola a look on someone else's practice squad, but he's already 27.
Broncos released CB Tony Carter.
Carter is a core special teamer. He should latch on elsewhere.
