Chargers waived/injured WR Torrence Allen, CB Chris Davis, S Gordon Hill and OG Melvin Meggs.
All four players should pass through waivers unclaimed, and revert to injured reserve.
Third-round G/T Jamon Brown will be the Rams' starting left guard.
Brown was initially penciled in at right guard, but has settled in on the left side. Rodger Saffold will man the right. The Rams reportedly believe Brown can be a "dominant run blocker."
Rodger Saffold will be the Rams' right guard this season.
It means third-rounder Jamon Brown has earned left guard duties. Saffold spent the majority of 2014 at left guard, but has spent plenty of time on the right side.
Case Keenum will be the Rams' No. 2 quarterback.
Keenum has beaten out Austin Davis for the right to back up Nick Foles. It's possible Davis could be waived. Keenum has some raw playmaking ability, but is prone to streaks of wildness/total ineffectiveness. He's a second-tier backup.
Seahawks coach Pete Carroll called Fred Jackson's visit "not a signing."
It sounds like the Seahawks were merely kicking the tires/updating their emergency list. No. 2 back Robert Turbin is dealing with a high-ankle sprain, and F-Jax would be a readymade replacement were Turbin unavailable for Week 1.
Seahawks FS Earl Thomas (shoulder) will be ready for Week 1.
Coach Pete Carroll said Thomas is as ready to go as "we can get him." It's been a long recovery for the Seahawks' stud safety, but he'll be ready to rock against the Rams. Thomas has never missed a game.
Seahawks RB Robert Turbin is dealing with a high-ankle sprain.
It helps explain the Seahawks' interest in free agent Fred Jackson. Coach Pete Carroll says a signing isn't imminent, suggesting the team was hosting F-Jax just to get up to speed in case Turbin isn't ready for Week 1. Marshawn Lynch's handcuff should be considered week to week, and highly questionable for the opener.
Ealges waived ILB Emmanuel Acho (thumb surgery) with an injury settlement.
Acho will look for work as a special teamer once his thumb is back to 100 percent.
