Juan Uribe is not in the Dodgers' lineup Wednesday.

Justin Turner is getting a second straight start at third base after going 3-for-4 with a home run and four RBI on Tuesday. Turner has been much better than Uribe this season and could continue to grab a larger share of the playing time at the hot corner. Alex Guerrero is also in the mix for playing time at third.
May 6 - 4:13 PM

George Springer (head) is not in the Astros' starting lineup on Wednesday night against the Rangers.

Springer banged his head and shoulder against the right-field wall Tuesday while making a spectacular catch. He looked pretty shaken up after the play and is still being evaluated for a concussion. Robbie Grossman is in right and batting ninth on Wednesday.
May 6 - 4:10 PM

Max Scherzer yielded 10 hits and five runs but struck out 10 and picked up the victory in Wednesday's 7-5 win over the Marlins.

Nationals manager Matt Williams probably left Scherzer in the game too long, as the righty was allowed to start the eighth with a 7-2 lead even though he'd already topped 100 pitches. He didn't record an out in the frame, permitted a couple singles before serving up a homer to Giancarlo Stanton. It was still a pretty good day overall for Scherzer, as he picked up a win and improved his K/BB ratio to 49/5 over 42 2/3 innings. He'll get the Diamondbacks next.

Matt Adams is not in the Cardinals' lineup Wednesday.

Mark Reynolds is starting at first base and batting cleanup against Cubs left-hander Jon Lester. It's become a typical look for St. Louis against tough lefties.
May 6 - 4:03 PM

Drew Storen nailed down his eighth save of the season with a scoreless ninth inning in Wednesday's win over the Marlins.

It got a little hairy at the beginning of the frame, as Storen hit a batter and then allowed a single. He rebounded, though, inducing a flyout from Martin Prado before striking out both Giancarlo Stanton and Marcell Ozuna swinging. Storen has converted eight of nine save chances and boasts a 1.00 ERA.
May 6 - 4:03 PM

Jon Jay is not in the Cardinals' lineup Wednesday.

He'll take a seat with the Cubs throwing lefty Jon Lester. Peter Bourjos is in center and leading off.
May 6 - 4:02 PM

Rays prospect Casey Gillaspie corked two homers Tuesday in a win for Low-A Bowling Green.

He matched a season-high with four RBI. Gillaspie's bat has been quiet at times this year (.238 average), but his power remains a constant. This is only his second season in the minors after being drafted in the first-round last year. It won't be long before Gillaspie joins his brother Conor in the big leagues.

Leonys Martin (wrist) is out of the Rangers' starting lineup again on Wednesday night.

Martin hasn't played since injuring his left wrist while trying to make a catch on Monday night. He was wearing a brace Tuesday but X-rays turned up negative and he is expected to avoid the disabled list. Delino DeShields Jr. is starting in center field Wednesday.
