DeMarco Murray rushed 25 times for 107 yards and a touchdown and caught 3-of-5 targets for 20 yards in the Titans' Week 7 loss to the Colts.
Murray was basically the lock of the week in DFS and proceeded to hit, even in a game where the Colts played surprisingly decent run defense and prevented Murray from hitting any runs of longer than 14 yards. On Thursday Night Football in Week 8, Murray will take on a Jaguars defense that has been weaker versus the run than the pass. He is an elite RB1 play every week.
Mark Ingram produced 62 yards on 16 carries and caught four passes for 20 yards and a touchdown Sunday in the Saints' Week 7 loss to the Chiefs.
It was an eventful afternoon for Ingram, though not necessarily for all the right reasons. Ingram was mostly bottled up in the run game, averaging an underwhelming 3.88 yards per carry including 3.29 per attempt in the first half. He shined in the third quarter, extending a drive with a nice catch on third down before punching in a three-yard touchdown on a screen pass from Drew Brees. Ingram was thinking touchdown again in the fourth quarter but committed a costly fumble on the Chiefs’ seven-yard line. That play proved to be the final nail in the Saints’ coffin. Ingram will remain on the RB1 borderline next week against Seattle.
Latavius Murray had 18 carries for 59 yards and two touchdowns and caught 2-of-5 targets for four yards in Oakland's Week 7 win over Jacksonville.
Murray came into the game questionable after missing the last two weeks with turf toe. DeAndre Washington started, but he was the clear featured back with 20 touches. Murray looked fully healthy but averaged only 3.3 YPC despite the Raiders giving him a heavy workload. Oakland is going to remain a committee going forward, but Murray was the clear preferred option on early downs and in the red-zone. Murray is a touchdown-dependent RB2 for Week 8 against the Bucs.
Marcus Mariota completed 22-of-37 passes for 237 yards and two touchdowns and rushed twice for 14 yards in the Titans' Week 7 loss to the Colts.
We'll take the fantasy points, but Mariota's on-field performance wasn't great. He struggled with accuracy and decision making a lost a game-ending fumble that was returned to the house by Robert Mathis. Mariota gets a tougher Week 8 draw against an underrated Jaguars pass defense in Week 8. That game will be played on Thursday Night Football. Mariota will be a shaky QB1 investment.
Coby Fleener corralled both of his targets for 44 yards Sunday in the Saints' Week 7 loss to the Chiefs.
He broke off a 30-yard gain late in the second quarter but wasn’t heard from again after that. Fleener has had a couple big games this season but with so many mouths to feed in New Orleans, he’s going to get lost in the shuffle some weeks. He’ll be on the back end of the TE1 spectrum next Sunday against Seattle’s famous Legion of Boom.
Drew Brees completed 37-of-48 for 367 yards with three touchdowns and one interception Sunday in the Saints' Week 7 loss to the Chiefs.
It was the 100th 300-yard passing game of Brees’ storied career, extending his own NFL record. Brees capped a 10-play 80-yard drive with a nine-yard touchdown to Brandin Cooks in the first quarter. New Orleans has now scored on its opening drive in each of the last four games. Brees committed a rare pick-six in the second quarter on a pass intended for Willie Snead. He rebounded with a pair of second-half touchdowns including a nice screen to Mark Ingram to wrap up an eight-minute, 14-play drive. Even at age 37, Brees continues to be a top-flight fantasy quarterback. He has a tough game coming up against the Seahawks in Week 8 but still belongs on the QB1 radar.
Golden Tate caught 6-of-12 targets for 93 yards in the Lions' Week 7 win over the Redskins.
The 6/90 effort was Tate's second straight after his dreadfully slow start. He has 22 targets in his past two games. One of Tate's missed connections was a drop, while he had a pair of potential scores undone by miscues. One was called back by penalty, the other kept off the board by Tate's inability to stay in bounds. Seemingly a much bigger part of the Lions' offense now, Tate will be a high-end WR3 against the Texans' banged up secondary in Week 8.
Derek Carr completed 23-of-37 passes for 200 yards and a touchdown in Oakland's Week 7 win over Jacksonville.
Carr hit Michael Crabtree on a third-and-goal at the end of the first half for his only touchdown. He didn't have anything going outside of Crabtree and went full game manager with Oakland protecting a lead. Despite getting the Raiders another win, Carr has disappointed with plus matchups the last two weeks. He'll be a QB2 against the Bucs in Week 7.
