Tommy Pham went 4-for-6 with a double and two runs scored as the Cardinals edged the Mets 4-3 in 13 innings Thursday.

Dexter Fowler delivered the game-winner in the 13th. Pham now has a four-hit game to go along with his three three-hit performances, and he's batting a robust .368. He's scored 21 runs while starting just 20 games thus far.

Carlos Martinez pitched six innings of one-run ball Thursday against the Mets.

Martinez's ERA rose today, so you know he's off to a nice start. He's allowed one or no runs in five consecutive starts.

Greg Holland pitched a scoreless ninth in a tie game against the Mets on Thursday

Bud Norris got the eighth today, so it looks like the Cardinals were planning on giving Holland a save chance in the ninth had one materialized. He needs to be picked up in any leagues in which he was dropped.
Apr 26 - 5:37 PM

Noah Syndergaard held the Cardinals to two runs -- one earned -- in 7 1/3 innings on Thursday.

Syndergaard could have gone eight scoreless today with better defense behind him. He ended up striking out seven and walking none. 76 of his 101 pitches went for strikes.

Jeurys Familia took his third blown save after giving up a run in the ninth Thursday against the Cardinals.

Familia has blown all three saves in his last five chances after converting his last seven. Still, the first of those wasn't much his fault; he allowed an inherited run to score after coming into a game in the eighth. Today, he just gave up an infield single and then a game-tying double. His job is safe.

Kolten Wong went 0-for-5 with two strikeouts on Thursday, dropping his average back down to .180.

We like Wong as a starter against right-handers, but if it's him versus Jedd Gyorko for one lineup spot, then Gyorko deserves the nod right now. Gyorko, though, has started just one of the last four games.
Apr 26 - 5:32 PM

Asdrubal Cabrera went 0-for-6 in his return to the lineup on Thursday.

It's just the second time this season that he's failed to reach base safely after starting a game. Cabrera didn't play Wednesday because of a hamstring injury.

Red Sox manager Alex Cora said SS Xander Bogaerts would be activated off the disabled list on Friday.

It's been a rapid recovery from a fractured ankle for Bogaerts, who played in just one rehab game with Triple-A Pawtucket. He was placed on the disabled list on April 9th and will make it back in less than three weeks. It's good news for his fantasy owners considering he was one of the hottest hitters in the league for the season's first two weeks. He returns to a .368/.400/.711 slash line with two homers and nine RBI in 40 plate appearances.
