Brian Dozier had a double and a run scored in Tuesday's win over the Red Sox.

Dozier led off the bottom of the first inning with a double and scored the first run of the game later in the inning. He finished 1-for-4. His 36 runs scored are second-most in the American League, and the second baseman is hitting .251/.330/.503 on the year.
May 27 - 12:54 AM

Nick Markakis went 3-for-4 with a double, but the Braves were shut out in Tuesday's loss to the Dodgers.

The double was the outfielder's ninth of the season. He's up to 52 hits on the season, but 43 of them have been singles. Markakis has reached double-digits in home runs in nine previous seasons but he'll have to catch fire at some point to get there by season's end. The 31-year-old is hitting an otherwise productive .311/.398/.365.

Clay Buchholz allowed two runs over 7 1/3 innings in a loss to the Twins on Tuesday.

Buchholz allowed back-to-back RBI doubles in the first inning, but he settled down to keep the Twins off the scoreboard for the rest of his time. Buchholz finished with seven hits and a walk while striking out four. The loss dropped him to 2-6, but Buchholz actually lowered his ERA to 4.33 in the start. He'll try to get back in the win column Sunday at the Rangers.

Adrian Gonzalez went 1-for-3 with a walk and a two-run home run as the Dodgers enjoyed an easy win over the Braves on Tuesday.

Gonzalez's fifth-inning two-run home run off of Julio Teheran marked his 10th long ball of the season and his 1,000th and 1,001st RBI's of his 12-year-career. The first baseman owns a stellar .344/.421/.638 batting line with 35 RBI on the season as well.
May 27 - 12:52 AM

Clayton Kershaw tossed seven scoreless innings to pick up the win on Tuesday versus the Braves.

As strange as it sounds, Tuesday's outing was Kershaw's first in which he held the opposition scoreless. Kershaw scattered only four hits while striking out 10 and issuing no walks. He entered the game with a .347 BABIP and a 4.32 ERA, suggesting some of his struggles may just be bad luck. Kershaw's ERA is down to 3.86 with a 1.16 WHIP and an 83/16 K/BB ratio over 65 1/3 innings. The lefty goes up against the Rockies at Coors Field in his next start.
May 27 - 12:50 AM

Glen Perkins was asked to get four outs Tuesday, earning his 17th save against the Red Sox.

With two on and two outs in the eighth, Perkins was brought in to face Pablo Sandoval. Sandoval hit an infield single to load the bases, but Perkins got Hanley Ramirez to fly out to end the threat. He then worked a perfect ninth to earn the save. Perkins leads the league with his 17 saves, and he owns a 1.25 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 21/2 K/BB ratio over 21 2/3 innings.
May 27 - 12:47 AM

Brandon Belt hit his fifth home run of the season to help the Giants best the Brewers 6-3 on Tuesday.

Belt hit the solo shot off Corey Knebel in the seventh inning. The homer was the fourth in the first baseman's last 10 games. Belt is hitting .301/.375/.510 with 20 RBI and 22 runs scored this season.
May 27 - 12:39 AM

Aramis Ramirez went 2-for-2 with a two-run homer and a walk in a loss to the Giants on Tuesday.

Ramirez connected with a Madison Bumgarner pitch in the fourth inning for his sixth homer of the season. The multi-hit game was his first since May 15. Ramirez is batting .236 with 16 RBI in his final season.
