Cliff Lee - S - Phillies

Cliff Lee overwhelmed the Marlins Wednesday, going the distance while allowing just three hits, two walks and no runs while striking out five in the 3-0 win.

Lee got into trouble in the second inning with a single, walk and hit by pitch, but he pulled a Houdini act with a 5-2-3 double play followed by a pop-out. Two of the three base knows he allowed were of the infield variety, and all three were singles. The southpaw will take a nifty 2.48 ERA and 1.02 WHIP into next week's start in Boston.

Kendrys Morales - DH - Mariners

Kendrys Morales went 3-for-4 with a double in the Mariners' loss to the Angels on Wednesday.

The first baseman was the only one effective against Angels' starter C.J. Wilson on Wednesday, and his line is up to .281/.362/.449 on the year. After getting his legs back under him last year in Anaheim, Morales has been relied upon in the middle of the Mariners order. He has five home runs and 21 RBI through 45 games.

Delmon Young - OF - Phillies

Delmon Young homered for the second straight game in Wednesday's win over the Marlins.

Young also added an infield single and a pair of runs scored. His solo shot to left field in the fourth inning got the scoring started for the Phils, and it's all the scoring Cliff Lee needed. Young is still batting just .233/.304/.450 for the season but could be heating up.

Alberto Callaspo - 3B - Angels

Alberto Callaspo went 2-for-4 with two runs scored in the Angels' win over the Mariners on Wednesday.

Callaspo scored twice and drove in two runs, and he's now got a .277/.330/.415 line. Against the odds, he's been one of the Angels' better hitters thus far, and he's been finding his way into the lineup more often in recent weeks.

Brandon Maurer - S - Mariners

Brandon Maurer allowed seven runs in three innings as the Mariners lost to the Angels on Wednesday.

After two rough outings to start the season, Maurer had been better of late. But he struggled from the outset Wednesday, giving up five runs in the first inning and a run in each of the next two. His next scheduled start is Tuesday against the Padres.

Adeiny Hechavarria - SS - Marlins

Adeiny Hechavarria went 0-for-4 at the plate in Wednesday's loss to the Phillies, watching his average drop to .193.

We can hardly blame Hechavarria for not getting a hit against Cliff Lee, but his 0-for-4's have hardly been a rare occurrence. The slick-fielding shortstop had a seven-RBI game earlier this month shortly after returning from the disabled list, but his offense has pretty much been non-existent otherwise.

D.J. LeMahieu - 2B - Rockies

D.J. LeMahieu is expected to take over as the Rockies' starting second baseman following the demotion of Josh Rutledge.

Rutledge's recent slump and LeMahieu's .412/.444/.529 batting line early on, along with his solid defense, has convinced the Rockies to make a change. LeMahieu is a .294 career hitter over 125 games, but he offers next to nothing in the power and speed departments, making him worthy of picking up only in NL-only formats.

Josh Rutledge - 2B - Rockies

Rockies optioned 2B Josh Rutledge to Triple-A Colorado Springs.

Manager Walt Weiss indicated recently that he was going to stick with Rutledge through his slump, but evidently he had a change of heart. The second baseman sports just a .242/.298/.357 batting line for the season and is hitting only .206/.250/.294 over his last 11 games. The Rox appeared poised to go with D.J. LeMahieu at second base for now.
