Mitch Harris will be called up by the Cardinals prior to Tuesday's game.

It's a cool story, as Harris is a Naval Academy graduate who didn't make his professional debut until he was 27 because he was serving his country. Now 29, Harris boasts a 2.78 ERA with 76 strikeouts over 94 career minor league innings. He'll likely only be up for a few days while Peter Bourjos is on paternity leave.

Peter Bourjos will be placed on paternity leave prior to Tuesday's game against the Nationals.

He'll be allowed to be away from the club for up to three days. Mitch Harris will replace Bourjos on the active roster.

Jonathan Lucroy had to leave Monday's game against the Reds after being hit in the left foot by a foul tip.

The Brewers just can't catch a break right now. It's not clear whether Lucroy might be sent for X-rays, as the club is simply calling it a "left foot injury" at the moment. More should be known after the game

Allen Webster has been placed on Triple-A Reno's disabled list due to right shoulder fatigue.

The shoulder issues should help to explain Webster's 19.29 ERA through his first two outings for Reno. It doesn't seem serious, as the D'Backs only expect him to miss a couple starts, but obviously he's not going to be an option for the big club for a while.

Nolan Arenado was scratched from Monday's lineup with a sore left wrist.

It's not clear at this point how Arenado injured the wrist or how serious the setback might be. The Rockies should provide an update on the third baseman shortly. Rafael Ynoa took Arenado's spot at the hot corner.

Jarrod Parker (elbow) will begin a rehab assignment with High-A Stockton on Thursday.

Parker will go four innings and/or 60 pitches in his first outing. He'll use his full 30-day rehab allotment, putting him on track to rejoin the Athletics' rotation in late May. Parker has been on a relatively aggressive timetable considering he's coming back from a second Tommy John surgery, but he's experienced no bumps in the road to this point. Those in deeper leagues might want to stash him now if you have the roster space.
Apr 20 - 8:19 PM

Jesse Hahn (blister) has been scratched from his next scheduled start on Thursday in Anaheim.

He'll miss just the one outing, as the A's want to give him some extra rest in order to allow his blister to fully heal. Hahn will rejoin the rotation next week. Jesse Chavez will make a spot start on Thursday in Hahn's place.
Apr 20 - 8:14 PM

Ben Zobrist (knee) will be sidelined for at least a couple more days after being given a cortisone shot on Monday.

Zobrist has dealt with some cartilage issues in his left knee for a while, and they flared up on him Sunday, forcing him from the game. The good news is that he had an MRI and it didn't reveal any ligament issues. The bad news is that it's possible he could require surgery if the cortisone shot doesn't help. It would just be of the cleanup variety, but an operation would obviously sideline Zobrist for at least a few weeks.
