Eugenio Suarez (thumb) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Louisville on Tuesday.

That means he'll play a game just 16 days after suffering a fractured left thumb, an injury that routinely takes players six-plus weeks to come back from. How many rehab games Suarez will require isn't known, but as long as he feels good it shouldn't take many since he didn't wind up missing much time.

Billy Hamilton tallied his fifth stolen base of the season Monday night against the Braves.

Hamilton finished the night 1-for-3 with a walk and two runs scored. The 27-year-old speedster is batting just .179/.286/.239 through 77 plate appearances this season and continues to hit ninth in the Reds' lineup.

Nick Markakis finished 3-for-4 with a homer and three total RBI in the Braves' loss to the Reds on Monday.

Markakis hit a solo shot off Reds starter Sal Romano in the top of the fourth inning and drove in Ender Inciarte and Freddie Freeman on a two-run single in the top of the eighth. The 34-year-old outfielder is now batting .301/.385/.458 with three home runs, 14 RBI, and 13 runs scored in 21 games played this season.

Scott Schebler went 2-for-5 with a homer, three RBI, and three runs scored Monday in the Reds' victory over the Braves.

Schebler got Cincinnati on the board with a game-tying two-run homer off Braves starter Mike Foltynewicz in the bottom of the fifth inning and then added an RBI single in the bottom of the eighth. The 27-year-old outfielder has been productive this year when healthy (.929 OPS in seven games) and he batted leadoff for the Reds in Monday's win.

Sal Romano allowed two runs -- one earned -- over six innings Monday in a win over the Braves.

The only earned run he gave up came on a Nick Markakis solo homer in the top of the fourth inning. Romano yielded only three other hits and one walk while striking out five. The 24-year-old right-hander will bring a 1-2 record, 4.78 ERA, and 1.41 WHIP into his next start on the road versus the Twins.
Apr 23 - 10:03 PM

Mike Foltynewicz yielded two earned runs over 4 2/3 innings Monday in a no-decision versus the Reds.

Foltynewicz struck out seven but issued four walks, leading to an elevated pitch count. He kept the Reds off the board until the bottom of the fifth, when Scott Schebler slugged a game-tying two-run homer. Cincinnati would go on to win 10-4, with the loss going to Braves reliever Sam Freeman. Folty will carry a cool 2.77 ERA into his next start on the road against the Phillies. He has tallied 33 strikeouts in 26 innings this season.

Raisel Iglesias earned his third save of the season Monday in the Reds' 10-4 win over the Braves.

Iglesias entered the game in the top of the eighth inning, when the Braves were still within striking distance. He retired all four batters he faced, including a strikeout of Preston Tucker in the top of the ninth. The 28-year-old closer holds a sharp 0.93 ERA, 0.72 WHIP, and 13 strikeouts through 9 2/3 innings this season.

Tim Beckham had to leave Monday's game against the Indians after aggravating a groin injury.

Beckham originally tweaked his groin during spring training and just barely avoided the disabled list to start the season. It sounds like he might be headed there now, as Orioles manager Buck Showalter said he was concerned. Beckham has also dealt with a sore Achilles, although the groin ailment seems more serious.
