Joey Rickard is not in the Orioles' lineup Saturday against the White Sox.

He's sitting for the first time this season. Hyun-soo Kim will fill in at left field with Manny Machado taking over the leadoff spot. Rickard should return to the starting lineup on Sunday. He's been in a slump, collecting just five hits in his last 32 at-bats (.156).

Justin Upton blasted a three-run home run in the first inning on Saturday, powering the Tigers to a 4-1 victory over the Twins in Minnesota.

Upton tagged Twins hurler Tyler Duffey with the massive blast in the first inning, putting the Twins in an early hole they'd be unable to dig out of. He finished the afternoon 1-for-4 with a strikeout and is now hitting .221/.242/.326 with two long balls and eight RBI on the season.

Francisco Rodriguez slammed the door on the Twins on Saturday, working a scoreless ninth inning to preserve a three-run advantage.

He allowed a two-out single to Eduardo Escobar, but nothing further came from it. Rodriguez owns a troublesome 5.19 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 7/4 K/BB ratio through 8 2/3 innings on the year, but he has made good on six of his first seven save chances.

Hunter Harvey will see a specialist Monday in Philadelphia after feeling renewed groin discomfort.

Doctors will determine whether he needs sports hernia surgery. "The groin’s just not healing like it should," said manager Buck Showalter. "He’s had plenty of time" Hernia surgery usually requires a 4-6 week recovery. The top prospect missed all of last season while battling elbow issues.

Jordan Zimmermann continued his domination of the American League on Saturday, improviing to 5-0 on the season with seven innings of one-run ball against the Twins.

Zimmermann scattered six hits on the afternoon and punched out seven without issuing a free pass. The only damage against him on the afternoon came on a solo home run off the bat of Byung-ho Park in the fourth inning. He now boasts a tremendous 0.55 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 23/7 K/BB ratio over 33 innings on the season. He'll look to continue his impressive run when he takes the hill against the Rangers at home on Friday.

Byung-ho Park clubbed his sixth home run of the season on Saturday, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Tigers.

Park's fourth inning blast off of Jordan Zimmermann wound up being the club's only offense in the contest. He finished the afternoon 1-for-4 with a strikeout and is now hitting .227/.288/.561 with a team-leading six homers and eight RBI on the year.

Tyler Duffey pitched well in a losing effort against the Tigers on Saturday afternoon, allowing four runs (one earned) on five hits over 6 1/3 innings.

Duffey punched out seven on the afternoon and didn't issue a walk. The lone mistake that he made in the ballgame came in the first inning where he served up a three-run homer to Justin Upton. Duffey now boasts a 1.74 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 8/2 K/BB ratio over 10 1/3 innings. He has certainly shown enough to earn another start, which would come on Friday against the White Sox in Chicago.

Cubs manager Joe Maddon hasn't decided if Kris Bryant (ankle) will play on Sunday.

Bryant sprained his ankle Thursday and wasn't in the starting lineup on Friday, though he was on deck to pinch-hit. "I'll debate whether to play him or not," said Maddon. "If we don't start him for sure, he'll be able to come off the bench." Javier Baez filled in at third base Friday and would likely do so the same Sunday if Bryant sits.
