Greg Holland allowed an earned run, two hits and two walks over 1 1/3 innings in Saturday's game against the Nationals to hang on for his 31st save of the season.

Despite the earned run, Holland is still cruising along with a 1.72 ERA overall this season, even better than his career mark of 2.33. Holland has been one of the most dependable closers in the majors, and a tremendous asset to fantasy owners.
Jul 23 - 2:55 AM

German Marquez allowed two earned runs, three hits and two walks with nine strikeouts over seven innings in a win against the Pirates on Saturday.

Marquez had a dismal month of June, going 1-2 with a 5.48 ERA over five outings. He has picked up the pace rather nicely in July, posting three consecutive victories and quality starts. He'll look to extend that run in his next scheduled outing Friday in Washington opposite Stephen Strasburg.
Jul 23 - 2:52 AM

Ryan Zimmerman finished 2-for-4 with a double, run scored and RBI in Saturday's game in Arizona.

The double was the 361st of Zimmerman's career, moving him to the top of the Expos/Nationals franchise list, one ahead of Tim Wallach. The solid games have been few and far between lately for Zimmerman, who has posted eight hitless stat lines across 14 games in the month of July. Still, he is the kind of fantasy option you stick with through thick and thin.
Jul 23 - 2:28 AM

David Peralta was hitless across four at-bats with a pair of strikeouts in Saturday's game against the Nationals.

The goose egg snapped a 10-game hitting streak. He is still hitting a cool .381 (16-for-42) with six runs scored, two homers and six RBI over the past 11 outings. He'll look to start a new streak Sunday, but it won't be easy against fireballer Stephen Strasburg.
Jul 23 - 2:24 AM

Anthony Banda allowed four earned runs, seven hits and no walks with five strikeouts across 5 2/3 innings in a loss against the Nationals on Saturday.

Banda threw 55 of his 82 pitches for strikes in his major league debut. He didn't fare much worse or much better than his time at the Triple-A level. He has a 5.08 ERA with a 1.43 WHIP and 93/43 K/BB ratio. He can be avoided in most fantasy formats for now.
Jul 23 - 2:09 AM

Brian Goodwin posted two singles and a double across five at-bats in Saturday's game in Arizona.

Goodwin entered the game hitting just .164 (10-for-61) across the first 15 games in the month of July before his three-hit outing. He continues to get a chance to fill the void left by Trea Turner (wrist) on the shelf, but until Saturday he hadn't done much to endear himself to fantasy owners.
Jul 23 - 2:06 AM

Bryce Harper finished 2-for-5 with a double, solo home run, two runs scored and two RBI in Saturday's win in Arizona.

Harper closed out the month of June with a pair of hitless games. Those are his last two outings without a knock, as he has hit safely in 15 straight contests. Harper is hitting a robust .458 (27-for-59) with 22 runs scored, seven homers and 17 RBI during the longest active hitting streak in the majors.
Jul 23 - 2:02 AM

Sean Doolittle allowed one unearned run with a walk and a strikeout for his second save Saturday in Arizona.

Doolittle threw 13 of his 18 pitches for strikes, and needed to work a little overtime after Anthony Rendon's throwing error extended the inning and helped a run come in. Ryan Madson and Sean Doolittle have been a nice one-two punch in the eighth and ninth inning, which is exactly what Washington hoped after acquiring them.
