Nationals re-assigned OF Derrick Robinson, INF/OF Cutter Dykstra, INF Emmanuel Burriss, C Steve Lerud, 1B Kila Ka'aihue and RHP Manny Delcarmen to minor league camp.

No surprises in this group. Robinson is an interesting potential bench guy because of his speed, but he's coming off a lost season due to shoulder surgery.

MLB.com's Joe Frisaro reports that the Marlins "are leaning towards retaining" Brad Hand.

It was reported last week that the Marlins were discussing a deal with the Rangers involving Hand. This could be a ploy to get Texas to up their offer, or perhaps Miami has indeed decided they're better off keeping Hand around as depth. Frisaro says that the club had already been hesitant to move Hand even before MLB's investigation into Jarred Cosart's link to gambling.

Drew Storen (hand) is scheduled to return to Grapefruit League action on Friday.

Storen is two weeks removed from surgery to remove the hamate bone from his left (non-throwing) hand. The Nationals' closer will be ready to roll for Opening Day.

Bryce Harper (illness) is back in the Nationals' lineup Friday.

Harper missed a couple days of action due to a stomach bug, but he's obviously feeling better. The outfielder is batting .231/.444/.385 with one homer this spring.

Pirates general manager Neal Huntington said Friday that the team still plans to carry Jung Ho Kang on the Opening Day roster.

Kang has hit just .111 in 11 games this spring, but Huntington has seen enough positives from the Korean import. "We've seen some really good things," the GM said. He'll back up all over the infield for the Pirates and remains an intriguing long-term guy despite his struggles this spring.

Christian Vazquez (elbow) will undergo an MRI Friday.

Vazquez has been dealing with a sore right elbow for over a week and has been unable to get over the hump. He'll catch in a minor league game Friday but won't be allowed to throw to bases. At this point there's been no worry that Opening Day will be affected, but we'll have to wait and see what the MRI says.

Braves optioned LHP Manny Banuelos to Triple-A Gwinnett.

Banuelos was a long shot to win a rotation spot after being acquired from the Yankees over the winter. The lefty isn't the top prospect he once was but still could be an intriguing guy and has a shot to spend time in the big league rotation this season.

Braves optioned RHP Williams Perez to Triple-A Gwinnett.

Perez was touched up for nine runs over 6 1/3 innings this spring. The 23-year-old has yet to play at the Triple-A level, so some more seasoning is in order.
