John Farrell said after Thursday's masterpiece in his major league debut that he certainly expects Eduardo Rodriguez to remain in the Red Sox rotation.

If that's the case, he's a very interesting addition in all mixed leagues. The 22-year-old had been dominant over eight starts at Triple-A Pawtucket and carried that over to his big league debut on Thursday where he fired 7 2/3 shutout innings against the Rangers.

Nick Martinez finally took his first loss after yielding two runs in seven innings Thursday against the Red Sox.

It was another remarkably solid start for Martinez, but we're still thoroughly unimpressed by his stuff. There's no taking away his 2.03 ERA through 10 starts, but he's going to start to fade.

In his major league debut, Eduardo Rodriguez hurled 7 2/3 scoreless innings against the Rangers for a victory Thursday.

It seemed like Rodriguez would be done after seven, especially after an eighth inning that included two Rangers pitching changes and three Red Sox runs. However, he did come back out and strike out the next two batters he faced before giving up a walk and a single to get removed. It was just the third hit off him off the night. Rodriguez wasn't guaranteed anything more than the spot start going in, but he needs to be in the Red Sox rotation after this. He's worth picking up in mixed leagues.

Rockies prospect David Dahl will miss the remainder of the 2015 season after suffering a lacerated spleen in a gruesome collision in the outfield in a Double-A game on Thursday.

Dahl underwent successful surgery on Thursday to repair the massive laceration. Due to the severity of the injury, it's likely that he'll have to wear a protective device for the rest of his career to protect his spleen.

Hanley Ramirez went 2-for-4 and hit his first homer of May against the Rangers on Thursday.

Ramirez hit 10 homers in April, but this was his first since he hurt his shoulder earlier this month. He also doubled and walked in the game. It all seems like a very good sign for him getting back to being the game's top fantasy shortstop*.

Josh Hamilton went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI against the Red Sox on Thursday.

The double off Eduardo Rodriguez was his first extra-base hit. Hamilton is 3-for-15 since coming off the disabled list on Monday.

Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports reports that Tyler Wagner will be recalled from Double-A Biloxi to start for the Brewers on Sunday.

The 24-year-old right-hander has posted a 2.01 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 38/15 K/BB ratio over 53 2/3 innings at Double-A. With a strong showing, there's a chance that Wagner could stick around in the Brewers rotation while Wily Peralta recovers from his strained oblique.

Astros signed RHP Yoanis Quiala to a minor league contract.

The Astros reportedly view him as a starter due to his four-pitch mix, though some scouts believe his future will be in the bullpen. It's unclear at what level the 24-year-old will begin his professional career stateside.
