Jean Segura is back in the Diamondbacks' starting lineup Thursday versus the Marlins.
Segura missed a few games with a minor hip issue. He's batting leadoff and starting at second base in his return to action Thursday night against Miami left-hander Adam Conley. Segura, 26, boasts a .339/.368/.527 batting line with four home runs and 15 RBI in 26 games this season for the Snakes.
Yankees recalled OF Ben Gamel from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
Gamel, 23, was batting .286/.346/.363 with one home run and seven stolen bases in 23 games this season at the Triple-A level. He might take on fantasy value in very deep leagues if he finds his way into regular playing time, but that is probably not going to happen.
Yankees optioned LHP James Pazos to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
Pazos was only in the major leagues for a day and did not make an appearance. The 24-year-old left-hander should get a shot with the Yankees at some point this summer.
White Sox recalled RHP Erik Johnson from Triple-A Charlotte.
Johnson will start Thursday against the Red Sox in place of veteran left-hander John Danks, who was pushed off Chicago's 40-man roster earlier this week. Johnson holds a rough 4.17 ERA, 1.55 WHIP, and 6.9 K/9 in 86 1/3 career major league innings and probably won't be worth a fantasy stream at any point.
White Sox recalled RHP Tommy Kahnle from Triple-A Charlotte.
Kahnle will give the White Sox bullpen depth while Jake Petricka recovers from a hip injury. Kahnle made one scoreless appearance for Chicago earlier this season. He has a 2.45 ERA in 11 innings this year at Triple-A.
White Sox placed RHP Jake Petricka on the 15-day disabled list with a right hip injury.
It's not clear how long he might be out. Petricka owns a 4.50 ERA in nine appearances this season.
Domingo Santana (lat) is out again Thursday.
It's his third absence in Milwaukee's last four games. Santana is battling some mild soreness around his right lat and the Brewers don't want to risk it turning into something more. Alex Presley will get another start in right field Thursday versus the Reds.
Jason Heyward (wrist) is out of the Cubs' starting lineup again on Thursday.
Heyward is still dealing with discomfort in his right wrist and hasn't played since Sunday, when he went 0-for-5 against the Braves. Kris Bryant is in right field and Tommy La Stella is at third base Thursday in the Cubs' big series opener against the Nationals.
