Texans signed QB Thad Lewis.

With Ryan Mallett (pectoral) done for the season, Lewis will be the Texans' No. 3 quarterback. He may actually be active on game days if the Texans deem fourth-round rookie Tom Savage not ready for NFL action. Lewis was brutal in the preseason for the Bills after entering summer the favorite for No. 2 duties.

Cowboys S Jeff Heath will undergo thumb surgery on Tuesday.

Heath, a reserve safety and special teamer, has been good covering kicks, racking up eight tackles and playing 93 defensive snaps. The second-year UDFA out of Saginaw Valley was forced to start nine games for Dallas in 2013. Heath is expected to be back before the end of the regular season.

Jets declared RB Bilal Powell, QB Matt Simms, WR Walter Powell, CB Josh Thomas, LB I.K. Enemkpali, and OL Wesley Johnson inactive for Week 12 against the Bills.

With Powell inactive, Chris Johnson may be tasked with an uptick in passing-down touches and snaps. Powell is the Jets' best pass protector. He is down for this game due to an illness.

Chris Ivory (shoulder) is active for Week 12 against the Bills.

Ivory practiced in full this week despite being listed on the injury report. He's on the RB2 borderline for a matchup against the Bills' top-ten run defense. The Jets inactives are RB Bilal Powell, OG Dakota Dozier, LB Ikemefuna Enemkpali, OL Wesley Johnson, WR Walt Powell, QB Matt Simms, and CB Josh Thomas.

Fred Jackson is active for Monday night's game against the Jets.

He was listed as questionable with a groin injury. F-Jax's workload is unclear, but we suspect he'll end up playing the most snaps in Buffalo's backfield. The Bills' inactives are FB Frank Summers, WR Marquise Goodwin, TE MarQuies Gray, OT Cyrus Kouandjio, DL Jarius Wynn, DE Bryan Johnson, and LB Randell Johnson.

Colts re-signed OLB Victor Butler.

They waived DL Kelcy Quarles to make room. Butler is a once-promising pass rusher who missed all of 2013 with a torn ACL, and has been cut by several teams since. 27 years old, he'll try to earn snaps in Indy's sub-package defense.

Seahawks coach Pete Carroll expressed confidence Monday that Marshawn Lynch (back, illness) will play on Thanksgiving against the 49ers.

"We'll expect he'll be ready to go," said Carroll. "He won't want to miss this." It's obviously a huge division game in primetime. Lynch missed a number of plays in Sunday's win over the Cardinals because he was "sick to his stomach," Carroll said after the game. Carroll also acknowledged Lynch's longstanding back woes haven't gone away. He'll be a low-end RB1 against the 49ers.

Chiefs placed SS Eric Berry on the reserve/non-football illness list, ending his season.

Per ESPN Chiefs reporter Adam Teicher, the team believes Berry has lymphoma. If so, it's a scary time for Berry and his family. It's also a huge loss for the Chiefs, who may have to reinsert Marcus Cooper as a starting corner after moving Ron Parker from safety the past few weeks. The fifth overall pick in the 2010 NFL draft, Berry turns 26 in December. This is his contract year.
