Rangers optioned RHP Matt Bush to Triple-A Round Rock.

Bush is sent down to make room for Doug Fister, who was actived from the 10-day disabled list on Wednesday. The 31-year-old reliever has struggled mightily with his command as of late; as seen in his 9 walks in 11 1/3 innings for the Rangers this year. This could be a quick trip to Triple-A for the right-hander, but until he starts throwing more strikes, he's tough to trust as a fantasy hurler -- especially without the added benefit of saves.

Rangers recalled OF Ryan Rua from Triple-A Round Rock.

Rua is piling up the frequent flyer miles, as he's now been called up to the Rangers three times in the month of April. He replaces Adrian Beltre, who was placed on the 10-day disabled list with a strain of his left hamstring. The 28-year-old outfielder has an OPS of just .475 in his 18 games with Texas this season and offers very little fantasy value.

Rangers placed 3B Adrian Beltre on the 10-day disabled list with a left hamstring strain.

Beltre strained the hamstring while hustling out a single in the eighth inning against the Athletics on Tuesday. The Rangers called up outfielder Ryan Rua to take his place. Beltre has been a quick healer in his career, and assuming there are no setbacks in his rehab he should be back with Texas in a couple of weeks.

Jonathan Lucroy is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rangers.

Bruce Maxwell gets the start behind the plate for the A's in the series finale. The 31-year-old backstop has a line of .254/.333/.313 over his first 19 games with the Athletics.

Adrian Beltre is not in the lineup on Wednesday against the Athletics.

Beltre was diagnosed with a left hamstring strain on Tuesday after running down the line on an RBI single against the Athletics. He hasn't been placed on the disabled list yet, but a trip to the 10-day DL could be in the cards for the 39-year-old. Isiah Kiner-Falefa will play third in Beltre's place.
Apr 25 - 4:08 PM

Rangers activated RHP Doug Fister from the 10-day disabled list.

Fister is back on the roster and he'll start on Wednesday against the Athletics. He has an ERA of 3.95 in his three starts with the Rangers before being placed on the disabled list with a right hip strain.
Apr 25 - 4:04 PM

Byron Buxton (toe) did not feel well enough to play in an extended spring training game Wednesday.

But he was able to hit off a tee at the Twins' complex in Fort Myers. Buxton needed a hole drilled into his toe to relieve pressure after fouling a ball off his foot in his minor league rehab debut on Sunday. He initially landed on the disabled list April 18, retroactive to April 15, due to migraines. It might be another several days before he returns to the Twins' active roster.

Brewers recalled RHP Brandon Woodruff from Triple-A Colorado Springs.

Woodruff posted a 5.14 ERA in seven innings (one start, two relief appearances) earlier this season for Milwaukee, but he's been really good at the Triple-A level. The 25-year-old right-hander will work in long relief for now but could eventually join the starting rotation.
