Justin Hunter was held without a catch in Tennessee's third preseason game.
Hunter played exclusively with the second team, with Hakeem Nicks starting opposite Kendall Wright. He ran mostly deep routes, and couldn't secure any of his four targets. Hunter has just two catches for 14 yards through three preseason games. He isn't a recommended late-round flyer.
Allen Robinson caught two balls for 14 yards in the Jaguars' third preseason game.
Robinson caused a scare when he briefly left the game with a first-half shoulder "contusion" (bruise), but returned on the very next play. Especially with Julius Thomas (finger) losing so much practice time with Blake Bortles, Robinson is in prime position to open the season as a target monster. Through three preseason games, "A-Rob" has seven receptions for 103 yards.
Theo Riddick had one carry for three yards in Detroit's third preseason game.
Ameer Abdullah started, but Riddick mixed in with the first team. He added one catch for six yards on his lone target. With Joique Bell expected to be ready for Week 1, Riddick doesn't project to have a role in the Lions offense. Riddick has 12 carries for 42 yards through three preseason games.
Rookie WR Rashad Greene caught three balls for 25 yards in the Jaguars' third preseason game.
With Marqise Lee (always?) injured, Greene was the Jaguars' slot receiver to open the game, working between Allen Robinson and Allen Hurns on the first-team offense. Greene had a clutch third-down catch from Blake Bortles midway through the first half. The Jags plan to primarily run two-tight end sets this year, so Greene will be a rotational player if he holds off Lee.
Zach Zenner rushed eight times for 85 yards and a touchdown in the Lions' third preseason game.
The highly impressive undrafted rookie dominated in this one, playing extensively with the first-team offense in the Joique Bell role, while Ameer Abdullah mixed in. Zenner ripped off eight yards on his first carry, and six on the next before breaking off scampers of 41 and 21 yards, flashing his long-run ability. Zenner also made a tackle in punt coverage, and has locked up a 53-man roster spot as arguably the star player of the Lions' preseason. Through three exhibition contests, Zenner has 162 yards on 25 carries (6.48 YPC) and tonight's three-yard touchdown, plus a 6-60-1 receiving line.
LeGarrette Blount had seven carries for 29 yards in the Patriots' third preseason game.
While Jonas Gray and Brandon Bolden shared time with the Tom Brady group, Blount was the lead back when Jimmy Garoppolo entered to begin the second half. It's possible Blount played with Garoppolo in anticipation of them opening the season together. Knowing Bill Belichick, it's also possible the Patriots' tailback position has been opened to competition, and Blount is getting pushed by Gray. We don't anticipate any of the Pats' backs truly being trustworthy in re-draft leagues this year, but we do still believe Blount has the best shot.
Blake Bortles completed 20-of-29 passes for 245 yards and a touchdown in Jacksonville's third preseason game.
He added four carries for 38 yards. Borltes made some nice throws to Allen Hurns, including a 13-yard play-action touchdown. He would have had another touchdown, but Allen Robinson dropped a pass in the end zone. Bortles has put together a solid preseason, competing 39-of-60 passes for 461 yards and a touchdown through three games. Bortles has potential to be a streaming option in redraft leagues.
Denard Robinson rushed three times for seven yards and caught two passes for 29 yards in the Jaguars' third preseason game.
Robinson was the Jaguars' No. 2 back in this one, mixing in with the first-team offense behind T.J. Yeldon, who operated as an every-down back. Robinson handled a drive to himself, but was pulled at the goal line for Yeldon, who plunged in from two yards out. Robinson is ticketed for change-of-pace duties in the Jaguars' offense. He's a low-ceiling handcuff for Yeldon owners.
