Zack Greinke (oblique) is expected to make one more rehab start before he's activated.

Greinke allowed an unearned run over three innings Friday in a rehab start for the AZL Diamondbacks. Now he'll make one more start in the minors before returning to the Diamondbacks' rotation. The former Cy Young winner has been sidelined with a strained oblique since late June.

Reynaldo Lopez had a rough go of it Saturday against the Giants, allowing four hits, three runs and five walks in a no-decision.

He also notched four strikeouts while throwing 51 of his 92 pitches for strikes. It could have been a lot worse against a stacked Giants lineup but the walks are obviously a concern. Lopez has logged an unimpressive 9.35 ERA in two starts for the Nats this year. He'll probably head back to Triple-A after Saturday's dud.
Jul 30 - 8:25 PM

Trea Turner collected two hits Saturday in a losing effort agains the Giants.

Turner drew the start at second base with Daniel Murphy (hamstring) getting the afternoon off. The 23-year-old is quickly turning into a major asset for the Nationals with a .333 average and seven steals in only 15 appearances. He's made starts at both center field and second base and also has some experience playing shortstop.
Jul 30 - 8:20 PM

Eduardo Nunez provided a pair of hits Saturday in the Giants' win over the Nationals.

Nunez broke things open with a bases-loaded double off Reynaldo Lopez in the fourth inning. He also added a single and a stolen base. Nunez started the game at shortstop but finished it at third base. The 29-year-old was a great pickup by the Giants and should give them a nice boost down the stretch.

Jake Peavy scattered five hits, three runs and a walk over four innings Saturday in a no-decision against the Nationals.

Peavy logged seven strikeouts before being lifted for a pinch-hitter in the fourth inning. The 74-pitch effort represented his lightest workload since May 20. The right-hander hasn't looked sharp over his last four outings, going 0-2 in that span with a 6.98 ERA. He'll look for better results Friday against the same team he just faced.
Jul 30 - 8:10 PM

Alex Dickerson (hip) expects to return in a day or two.

Dickerson was pulled from Friday's game after suffering a right hip contusion but the injury isn't considered serious and he could return as soon as Sunday. Utility man Alexi Amarista will handle left field in his absence Saturday against the Reds.

C.J. Cron (hand) could begin swinging on Tuesday.

The Angels are hoping to have him back in about two weeks, which means he's way ahead of schedule. "Yeah, I know, it's amazing," said manager Mike Scioscia. Cron was originally expected to miss 6-8 weeks after breaking his hand right before the All-Star break but it looks like he'll only miss about four. Jefrey Marte has been filling in for him at first base.

The Padres have agreed to trade OF Matt Kemp to the Braves in exchange for OF/3B Hector Olivera.

The deal will become official as soon as both players complete their physicals. The Padres are sending Atlanta $10-12 million to cover part of Kemp's salary. The Braves have been wanting to move on from Olivera since his arrest in April and the Padres are trying to turn all their big league assets into prospects, so the deal works for both sides. Kemp will be playing in a more hitter-friendly park in Atlanta but RBI opportunities could be scarce in a depleted Braves lineup. Ultimately this shouldn't have a drastic impact on his fantasy value.
