Buster Posey hit a two-run home run as the Giants beat the Padres 4-3 on Sunday.
With one runner aboard in the first inning, Posey took Robbie Erlin to deep to center for his fourth homer of the year. It was his only hit on the afternoon, and the catcher is batting an uncharacteristic .238/.314/.444 through the early games. He's got just three RBI in his last eight games.
Nick Hundley went 2-for-4 with a home run in the Padres' loss to the Giants on Sunday.
Starting in place of Yasmani Grandal, Hundley pulled a Tim Lincecum pitch down the left field line for his first home run and first RBI of the year. The backup catcher is hitting .316 in limited action thus far.
Angel Pagan hit a two-run single in the Giants' win over the Padres on Sunday.
With the bases loaded, Pagan delivered the two-RBI single to give the Giants a four-run lead. The two-RBI day gives Pagan 12 RBI in 18 games played. He's also hitting a stout .356 for the year.
Sergio Romo pitched a scoreless ninth inning to earn the save against the Padres on Sunday.
Romo walked a batter but was otherwise spotless. The save was his fifth, and Romo is yet to blow a save opportunity on the year. He's got a 1.13 ERA, 0.63 WHIP and 9/2 K/BB ratio over eight innings to start the year.
Robbie Erlin allowed four runs over six innings in a loss to the Giants on Sunday.
Erlin allowed just three hits, but two of those -- a Buster Posey home run and an Angel Pagan single -- accounted for all four of the Giants' runs against him. The southpaw also walked three while striking out three. The setback leaves him at 1-2 with a 4.15 ERA heading into Friday's start against the Nationals in Washington, D.C.
Tim Lincecum allowed three runs on seven hits over six innings Sunday, earning the win over the Padres.
Lincecum wasn't great but he was good enough, walking three and striking out seven. Home runs remain an issue, as Nick Hundley's solo shot gives Lincecum six homers allowed over 21 innings this year. The win was his first this season, and he'll square off with the Indians in an interleague matchup Saturday in his next time out.
Yasiel Puig hit a three-run home run en route to a 4-1 win over the Diamondbacks on Sunday.
With two runners on, Puig deposited an 88 mph cutter from Josh Collmenter into the seats in left-center field. It was his only hit of the game, as the Dodgers mustered just five against the right-hander despite going home victorious. Amid plenty of controversy, Puig is batting .241/.349/.426 with two homers thus far.
Eric Chavez had an RBI double in Sunday's loss to the Dodgers.
Getting a rare start, Chavez brought in the Diamondbacks' only run of the game with the double. The team mustered just three hits in the loss. The 36-year-old is hitting .217/.250/.522 with three RBI in a part-time role this season.
