Jimmy Rollins hit a two-run homer and scored twice in Tuesday's win over the Brewers.

Rollins made his one hit count, taking Neal Cotts out for his third homer of the season. Hits have been scarce for the veteran, as he's batting just .168/.254/.317 through 26 games. Still, he's got 11 RBI and 12 runs scored in a potent Dodgers offense.
May 6 - 12:31 AM

Matt Garza allowed three runs over six innings in Tuesday's loss to the Dodgers.

Garza kept the Dodgers off the board until the sixth inning, when Justin Turner hit a three-run homer that ended up being the difference in the game. Garza gave up four hits and walked three on the night, striking out five. The right-hander fell to 2-4 with the loss. He'll look to improve on his 4.58 ERA and 1.50 WHIP against the Cubs on Sunday.
May 6 - 12:26 AM

Zack Greinke struck out seven while allowing only an unearned run over 7 2/3 innings in Tuesday's win over the Brewers.

Greinke gave up just two hits, both singles, in the dominant outing. The Brewers' only run against him came on a Joc Pederson error. Greinke moved to 5-0 with the win and he's turned in six straight quality starts to begin the year. He'll take a 1.56 ERA, 0.84 WHIP and 34/9 K/BB ratio into Sunday's start at the Rockies.
May 6 - 12:22 AM

Jesse Chavez kept the Twins largely under wraps Tuesday, allowing only an unearned run over 7 1/3 innings in the Athletics' 2-1 victory.

Chavez gave the Twins nothing all night, surrendering only four singles and one walk in the outing. He struck out seven on the evening. Things got a little dicey -- an error led to a run and Tyler Clippard had to work out of a jam in the eighth inning to retain the lead -- but the A's held on to give Chavez his first win. He'll try to keep his strong start to the season going Sunday at the Mariners.
May 6 - 12:14 AM

Tyler Clippard was asked to get five outs Tuesday, working 1 2/3 innings to earn the save against the Twins.

The Twins pushed across a run in the eighth inning and were threatening to tie the game with runners on first and third with one out, but Clippard struck out Torii Hunter and got Joe Mauer to fly out to end the threat. He worked a perfect ninth inning to secure the victory. Clippard has been shaky at points but owns a nice 2.25 ERA and 1.08 WHIP on the year.
May 6 - 12:07 AM

Billy Butler went 2-for-4 with an RBI single in Tuesday's win over the Twins.

Butler broke out of a slump with the two-hit night, as he'd had just three hits in his previous 40 at-bats coming into the game. The RBI single in the first inning gave Butler 13 RBI on the season to go with a .267/.325/.400 line on the year.
May 6 - 12:01 AM

Trevor May allowed two runs over 5 2/3 innings of work but took the loss against the Athletics on Tuesday.

May was good enough to win but Jesse Chavez was up to the task on the other side as well. May gave up five hits and walked two, with the A's scoring their runs on a couple of RBI singles. The 25-year-old struck out three in the start. He'd won his previous two decisions, dropping to 2-2 with the loss, and he'll try to regain a winning record Sunday at the Indians.
May 5 - 11:55 PM

Billy Burns went 2-for-5 with a run scored and a stolen base in a win over the Twins on Tuesday.

Burns had five steals at Triple-A Nashville prior to being recalled, and he recorded his first theft in his fourth game Tuesday. It was his third multi-hit performance in those four games and he's got at least one hit in all four, raising his average to .368 in an admittedly small sample.
