Brandon Lloyd caught one pass for 14 yards in the 49ers' Week 17 win over the Cardinals.

Lloyd finished his return season to the 49ers with 14 receptions for 294 yards and one touchdown. He primarily served in a situational perimeter receiver role behind Michael Crabtree, Anquan Boldin, and Stevie Johnson. Lloyd, 33, may be done as an NFL player. He is ticketed for offseason free agency.

Derek Carr completed 18-of-36 passes for 158 yards with one touchdown and one interception in Sunday's Week 17 loss at Denver.

Dec 28 - 7:59 PM

Michael Crabtree secured 4-of-4 targets for 41 yards in the 49ers' Week 17 win over the Cardinals.

Crabtree's 2014 campaign was a huge disappointment, ending with a 68-698-4 receiving line. He tore his Achilles' in the 2013 offseason and has seemingly never regained his old explosion. For the most part, Crabtree has been an inconsistent possession receiver in the pros, and he dropped way more passes than usual this year. It's fair to wonder if his career is now headed in a Hakeem Nicksian direction. An impending free agent, Crabtree won't be back with the Niners and may have to settle for a short-term deal elsewhere. Crabtree turned 27 this past September and seemingly has an arrow pointing down.

Zac Stacy - RB - Rams

Zac Stacy rushed two times for three yards and caught three passes for 17 yards in the Rams' Week 17 loss to the Seahawks.

Stacy caps off an extremely disappointing sophomore season with 293 yards and one touchdown on 76 carries (3.85 YPC) to go along with an 18-152 receiving line. Coming off a solid rookie season, Stacy entered 2014 as the starter but wheezed his way to just 228 yards and one touchdown on 53 carries the first five weeks of the season. After Week 6, Stacy played just 31 snaps excluding Week 17. It’s Tre Mason’s backfield now in St. Louis, though the Rams say they still like Stacy. Signed cheaply through 2016, Stacy should be back with the Rams next summer, but he’ll have to compete for a roster spot.
Dec 28 - 7:56 PM

Anquan Boldin secured 2-of-9 targets for 81 yards and a touchdown in the 49ers' Week 17 win over Arizona.

Boldin capped his age-34 season with a bang, scoring a 76-yard touchdown in the first quarter. He had another TD wiped away by an illegal chop block back at the line. Boldin is owed $6 million in 2015 salary and bonuses, but we suspect he'll be back. Still playing at a high level, Boldin ended 2014 with 83 catches for 1,062 yards and five scores. He isn't a true "No. 1" anymore, but would be an excellent "No. 2" if the 49ers can find an upgrade on Michael Crabtree. Boldin should return as a passable WR3 but ideal WR4 in 2015 re-draft leagues.
Dec 28 - 7:55 PM

Eddie Lacy rushed 26 times for 100 yards in the Packers' Week 17 win over the Lions, adding three receptions for 26 additional yards.

Lacy came out angry, spinning off tacklers as he racked up 35 yards across his first three carries. He wasn't as effective thereafter, losing a fumble while coming perilously close to a second cough up. Either way, Lacy closes out the regular season having surpassed 100 yards from scrimmage in each of his final nine games. For the year, he totaled 1,566 yards and 13 touchdowns. He now gets two weeks to rest up for the Pack's Divisional Round game.
Dec 28 - 7:54 PM

Benny Cunningham rushed for 10 yards on four carries and caught 7-of-7 targets for 57 yards in the Rams' Week 17 loss to the Seahawks.

He also lost a fumble at the goal line, resulting in a touchback. Cunningham's season ends with 246 yards and three touchdowns on the ground on 66 totes (3.72 YPC) to go along with a 45-352-1 line through the air. Cunningham is purely a pass-down specialist for the Rams who excels in blitz pickup and as a pass catcher. That’ll be his role again in 2015, though that could change if Tre Mason improves that area of his game. Cunningham also plays special teams, so his roster spot is relatively safe as the No. 2.
Dec 28 - 7:54 PM

Colin Kaepernick completed 15-of-26 throws for 204 yards and two touchdowns, adding seven scrambles for 63 yards in the 49ers' Week 17 win over the Cardinals.

And so ends a highly disappointing 2014 season for Kaepernick, where he finished with a 19:10 TD-to-INT ratio and 60.5 completion rate. Kaepernick definitely isn't getting better and may actually be getting worse, especially as a passer. He was more effective when the 49ers began running him more late in the year, but as a thrower Kaepernick consistently shows poor touch and is too quick to abandon his progressions when his first read appears covered. With Jim Harbaugh expected to go to Michigan, we suspect the 49ers will try to maintain some semblance of system continuity, perhaps retaining OC Greg Roman. Either way, it'll be an interesting offseason for Kaepernick. The Niners also need to replace free agent Michael Crabtree.
