Mariners optioned RHP Sam Gaviglio to Triple-A Tacoma.

The right-hander contineues to shuttle back and forth between the M's and Triple-A Tacoma every time they need a fresh arm in the bullpen. He should be back up for good once rosters expand in September.

Mariners activated OF Mitch Haniger from the 10-day disabled list.

Haniger has been shut down for a few weeks after getting drilled in the face by a fastball from Jacob deGrom. With Jarrod Dyson sidelined, he should return to an everyday role in the M's outfield and is worth a look in mixed leagues where he may have been dropped.
Aug 19 - 2:27 PM

Mariners placed OF Jarrod Dyson on the 10-day disabled list, retroactive to August 17, with a right groin strain.

For a player that derives nearly all of his value with his legs, he can't help the team unless he's 100% in that area, so it was wise to shut him down. Mitch Haniger was activated from the disabled list in a corresponding move.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Saturday that the club may skip Yu Darvish's next start as the right-hander is still experiencing tightness in his back.

Darvish was lifted from Wednesday's start as a precaution due to the back tightness, but it looks as though it's more serious than they initially thought. The club will take every possible precaution here, so look for Brock Stewart to possibly start in his place against the Pirates in Pittsburgh.

Grant Dayton will head back to Los Angeles to undergo further evaluation after experiencing discomfort in his elbow while warming up on Friday.

Dayton was working his way back from a neck injury when the elbow issue cropped up. The Dodgers had hoped to get him back from the disabled list in early September, but that's on hold now until they can figure out what's going on with the elbow issue.

Dodgers optioned OF Joc Pederson to Triple-A Oklahoma City.

With Friday's addition of Curtis Granderson, the struggling Pederson was squeezed out of his role as the club's primary center fielder against right-handed pitching. The 25-year-old was hitting just .116/.218/.261 with two homers, seven RBI and a 14/6 K/BB ratio over 78 plate appearances in his last 26 games dating back to July 16.

Aaron Sanchez (finger) threw off of flat ground without issue on Saturday.

The club remains hopeful that they'll get the right-hander back in some capacity at some point in September. It's looking like it's a lost season for him from a fantasy perspective however.
Aug 19 - 2:10 PM

Kolten Wong (hip) returned to the Cardinals' starting lineup on Saturday.

Wong was a late scratch from the Cardinals' starting lineup on Friday due to a minor hip injury, but he's ready to roll again. He'll bat sixth against Chad Kuhl and the Pirates on Saturday.
