Frank Francisco (elbow) has resumed throwing.

Francisco was diagnosed with a mild strain of the flexor pronator in his right elbow last week, but he's already back at it. However, it's not clear if he's throwing from a mound or simply playing catch or long-tossing. Either way, he's not close to rejoining the Mets' bullpen.

Jerry Hairston (knee, groin) will played in an extended spring training game Monday.

Hairston landed on the disabled list earlier this month with a left groin strain, but he suffered a brief setback last week due to a knee issue. It's not clear when he'll be ready for a rehab assignment, but he's moving in the right direction.

R.A. Dickey yielded three runs (two earned) in eight innings Monday in a 7-5 win over the Rays.

It was his longest outing of the season. Dickey limited the Rays to just four hits, but he issued four walks. Still, he was able to limit the damage. The knuckleballer has allowed two earned runs in each of his last three starts, lowering his ERA from 5.36 to 4.50 for the year. It doesn't appear that Dickey will match the dominance he displayed last year, but he has righted the ship somewhat.

Jake Odorizzi gave up three runs in five innings in his Rays' debut Monday against the Indians.

Odorizzi allowed two runs in the first inning and one in the second, but he settled down from there and was able to keep the Rays in the ballgame. He gave up five hits and just one walk while striking out six batters. The 23-year-old right-hander is worth a shot in AL-only and deeper mixed leagues while David Price is sidelined, though he has a tough matchup against the Yankees this weekend.

Edwin Encarnacion went 2-for-3 with a three-run double and a run scored in Monday's win over the Rays.

The bases-loaded double off Josh Lueke put the Blue Jays ahead in the bottom of the seventh inning. Encarnacion has four multi-hit games in his last six and has pulled his batting up from .218 to .255 on the year.
May 20 - 4:36 PM

Yunel Escobar smacked a two-run homer in a loss to the Blue Jays on Monday.

It was his only hit in four at-bats. Escobar has been a disappointment for the Rays so far, but he's hitting .312 (15-for-49) with two home runs, five doubles and 10 RBI over his last 13 games. Still, he shouldn't be a consideration outside of AL-only leagues and deeper mixed formats.
May 20 - 4:32 PM

Chris Stewart (groin) estimated Monday that it will be likely be a few more days before he's ready to return to the lineup.

Stewart injured his left groin on an awkward slide into third base last Thursday and hasn't played since. An MRI came back negative, so he's optimistic that he'll avoid a trip to the disabled list. Austin Romine will continue to handle the load behind the plate for now.
May 20 - 4:31 PM

Jurickson Profar will bat ninth and start at second base Monday night against the Athletics.

Profar was called up from Triple-A Round Rock on Sunday and regular looks at second base while Ian Kinsler (ribs) is sidelined. The top prospect should be worth using in most mixed leagues for now, though he could be headed right back down to the minors once Kinsler is ready to return.
