Jimmy Paredes went 3-for-3 with his first home run of the season as the Astros lost to the Royals on Tuesday.

Paredes' homer, a three-run shot, gave the Astros a lead in the fourth inning. He also added two singles on the night to bring his line to .268/.311/.439 through 14 games since being recalled. With the release of Rick Ankiel, it seems Paredes will continue to see plenty of playing time in the Houston outfield.

Eric Hosmer went 2-for-5 with two runs scored as the Royals beat the Astros on Tuesday.

The power is still missing, but Hosmer is now batting .271 with a .342 on-base percentage. The skill set suggests that he will start hitting the ball over the fence soon. He can break out at any time.

Wade Davis allowed three runs over five innings but escaped with a no-decision as the Royals beat the Astros on Tuesday.

Davis was fortunate to hold the Astros to just three runs, as he gave up eight hits and four walks on the night. After a strong start to the season, Davis now owns a 5.91 ERA and has won just one start since April 17. Fortunately for Davis, the Royals don't have any better options to replace him in the rotation at this point. His next start will come Sunday against the Angels.

Addison Reed picked up his 16th save on Tuesday in the White Sox' victory over the Red Sox.

Reed's 16 saves now rank behind only Jason Grilli and Mariano Rivera for the league lead, and he's blown just one opportunity on the year. The right-hander owns a 2.14 ERA and 1.05 WHIP, having struck out 24 batters in 21 innings. And after serving up six home runs last season, he's yet to be taken deep thus far. It's shaping up to be a big year for the young righty.

Alex Rios went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI as the White Sox beat the Red Sox on Tuesday.

The double was Rios' 11th of the year, and he's now hitting .306/.369/.559 this season. As is his history, this was supposed to be a down season for the 32-year-old, but he's bucking the trend thus far. He now has 26 RBI through 44 games.

Brian McCann went 3-for-4 with a home run Tuesday in the Braves' 5-4 extra-innings win over the Twins.

Freddie Freeman also had a big game, hitting an RBI double to get Atlanta on the board in the first inning and a walkoff RBI single in the bottom of the 10th. McCann singled twice and hit a solo shot in fourth. He is now batting .282/.383/.590 with four home runs and 12 RBI in 12 games since returning from the disabled list.

Rafael Betancourt is considered day-to-day after being diagnosed with a tight right groin.

Betancourt had to leave Tuesday's game with the discomfort after throwing just two pitches. It doesn't sound like a serious ailment, but it's possible a DL stint could be in order if he doesn't recover as hoped over the next few days. Rex Brothers is worth scooping up.
May 22 - 12:03 AM

Evan Gattis hit his ninth home run of the season in the Braves' late win over the Twins on Tuesday.

It was another pinch-hit home run and it sent the game to extra innings. Gattis still has a weak .302 on-base percentage and doesn't play enough anymore to carry relevance in mixed fantasy leagues, but he should remain a dangerous bat off the Atlanta bench all year.
