Rougned Odor is batting leadoff in the Rangers' starting lineup Tuesday versus Anaheim.

Odor had an appeal hearing for his eight-game suspension on Tuesday afternoon, but the Rangers aren't expecting a ruling to come down before the start of Tuesday night's game against the visiting Angels. The second baseman was issued the suspension (and a fine) for his role in last Sunday's brawl with the Blue Jays. Odor got a clean shot to the face of Jose Bautista after Bautista slid hard into him at the second base bag.

Kevin Kiermaier underwent surgery Tuesday to repair two fractures in his left hand.

Kiermaier broke two metacarpal bones in his glove hand Saturday while trying to rob James McCann of a hit and is expected to be sidelined for the next 8-10 weeks. Mikie Mahtook started in center field on Monday night and Brandon Guyer drew the nod there Tuesday afternoon. Tampa Bay can feature a number of different looks, but Kiermaier is one of the best defenders in baseball at any position. It's a huge loss.

Jimmy Rollins is out of the White Sox lineup Tuesday.

Rollins is batting just .230/.290/.349 in 32 games this season and will continue to get regular days off. Tyler Saladino will start at shortstop and hit ninth Tuesday versus Indians right-hander Corey Kluber.
May 24 - 3:57 PM

George Springer is batting leadoff for the Astros on Tuesday night against the Orioles.

Jose Altuve will bat second as manager A.J. Hinch tries to spark a fire. Springer batted leadoff in one game earlier this month, but he's otherwise hit second. The 26-year-old outfielder enters play Tuesday with a .254/.350/.452 batting line in 45 games.
May 24 - 3:49 PM

Jake Lamb is getting the day off Tuesday.

Phil Gosselin will start at third base and bat second with the Pirates throwing left-hander Francisco Liriano. Lamb has a stellar .870 OPS in 43 games this season, but he's hit .103/.257/.310 against lefties.

Jake Odorizzi tossed five scoreless innings in Tuesday’s 4-3 win over the Marlins.

Odorizzi gave up just two hits, but walked three and struck out seven, so he needed 107 pitches to get through five innings. After going winless through his first eight turns, Odorizzi has now won back-to-back starts. He’ll bring a 3.46 ERA into a matchup against the Yankees on Sunday.
May 24 - 3:40 PM

Tom Koehler allowed three runs over five innings in Tuesday’s loss to the Rays.

Jake Odorizzi delivered an RBI single in the second inning before Hank Conger brought home two runs with a single in the fourth. Koehler allowed six hits and walked five bats, so he was fortunate to only give up three runs. The 29-year-old owns a shaky 4.79 ERA and 37/30 K/BB ratio over 47 innings this season and should be ignored in most fantasy leagues.
May 24 - 3:39 PM

Alex Colome notched a six-out save Tuesday against the Marlins.

It was his first six-out save. Colome entered the game with two on and nobody out in the eighth inning. He induced a double-play grounder before giving up an RBI single to Adeiny Hechavarria, but got Miguel Rojas to fly out to center field to end the threat. He then pitched a 1-2-3 ninth inning, which included a pair of strikeouts. Colome has done an excellent job in the closer role for Tampa Bay, posting a 1.29 ERA and 28/4 K/BB ratio in 21 innings while going 12-for-12 in save chances. Brad Boxberger is expected to get his old job back when he comes off the DL, but Colome could make that decision more difficult than originally expected.
