Marwin Gonzalez has returned to the Astros starting lineup on Saturday.
Gonzalez sat out Friday's game as he was dealing with soreness in his right hamstring. The 25-year-old shortstop is hitting .271/.323/.394 with four homers and 14 RBI in his 64 games this season.
Endy Chavez has been scratched from the Mariners starting lineup on Saturday.
No reason given yet as to the reason for the late scratch. Corey Hart will get the start in right field in his place.
Indians recalled RHP Zach McAllister from Triple-A Columbus.
McAllister will start for the Indians on Saturday against the Royals. The 26-year-old is 3-5 with a 5.28 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 51/24 K/BB ratio over 59 2/3 innings with the Tribe this season. He should be avoided for fantasy purposes.
Indians optioned RHP Josh Tomlin to Triple-A Columbus.
He was a candidate to lose his spot in the rotation once Justin Masterson returned from the disabled list, but is being sent out in order to add Zach McAllister who is needed to start on Saturday. The veteran right-hander owns a 4.47 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 77/10 K/BB ratio over 86 2/3 innings on the season.
Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports reports that 28 teams and up to 100 baseball officials attended the workout of Rusney Castillo in Miami on Saturday.
It's unclear which two teams decided not to attend, but there is obviously an overwhelming amount of interest in the 27-year-old Cuban defector. He's expected to play in the outfield at the major league level, and could reach the big leagues late this season if he lands in the right situation.
Shane Victorino not in the Red Sox starting lineup on Saturday.
Victorino is getting a breather after playing in four consecutive games. The Red Sox want to give him a rest here and there in order to keep him healthy for the remainder of the season. Expect him to return on Sunday.
Scooter Gennett is not in the Brewers starting lineup for the fourth consecutive game on Saturday.
He left Tuesday's game with tightness in his right quad and has yet to progress enough to return to the lineup. Rickie Weeks will again draw the start in his place and hit fifth against the Mets.
Miguel Montero is not in the Diamondbacks starting lineup on Saturday.
It appears just to be a routine day off for the veteran backstop. Tuffy Gosewisch will get the start behind the dish and hit seventh for the Snakes against the Phillies on Saturday.
