Miguel Rojas left Monday's game against the Pirates with right shoulder irritation.

Rojas felt something on a swing during an at-bat in the third inning and was replaced by Derek Dietrich at second base. He'll be re-evaluated on Tuesday morning, but the hope is that he'll only miss a few days and avoid a stint on the disabled list.

Carlos Beltran (back) went 1-for-3 with a run scored in his return to the lineup Monday against the Blue Jays.

Beltran sat out Sunday after leaving Saturday's game with a back issue, but he was able to return as the DH on Monday. It's unclear if he'll remain in the DH spot on Tuesday and keep Alex Rodriguez on the bench.

Logan Forsythe (shoulder) hit off a tee Monday at Tropicana Field.

Forsythe continues to make steady progress from a fracture in his left shoulder blade. He's aiming to return in mid-June. The 29-year-old was batting .308/.398/.523 with four homers and 12 RBI in 29 games prior to the injury.

Steve Pearce left Monday's game against the Royals after eight innings due to right elbow irritation.

Pearce said his elbow has been an issue "for a while," but that he didn't feel it on a swing until Monday. The hope is that he'll be ready to go on Tuesday.

Mike Moustakas is getting a second opinion on his right knee from Dr. James Andrews.

Moustakas was diagnosed with a torn ACL in his right knee last week following a collision with teammate Alex Gordon. The second opinion was planned and isn't expected to change anything. The Royals aren't counting on having him in their lineup again until 2017.

Jhoulys Chacin struck out 10 in his third career complete game as the Angels beat the Tigers 5-1 on Monday.

That as many strikeouts as he had in his first three starts for the Angels combined. Chacin allowed a total of four hits and walked one in what was his best start since he was let go by the Rockies prior to last season. While he's done solid work for the Braves and now the Halos, he's still a poor investment in fantasy leagues.

Ian Kennedy surrendered only one unearned run and three hits over six innings but took a no-decision Monday against the Rays.

Kennedy was in line for the win until Kelvin Herrera blew the lead in the eighth. The Royals then pulled ahead in the bottom of the frame. Despite not allowing any earned runs, Kennedy was a bit shaky in this one. He struck out six batters, but issued five free passes. His wildness led to burning 107 pitches in only six innings. Kennedy will take an excellent 3.03 ERA into his next start Saturday in Cleveland.

After taking a shutout into the eighth, Justin Verlander was charged with four runs in 7 1/3 innings Monday against the Angels.

Verlander was cruising until giving up three straight singles to start the eighth. A sac bunt and a miscue on a fielder's choice followed, and the Angels had two runs on the board when Verlander was pulled from the game. They went on to score three more times in the inning, with two of those runs being charged to Verlander. Verlander certainly pitched better than the line indicates. He had allowed just one hit and walked none until the eighth.
