Cesar Hernandez has been dropped to seventh in the order for Tuesday's game against the Tigers.

Hernandez has mostly batted second recently, but he owns an underwhelming .252/.301/.305 batting line through 42 games. Freddy Galvis will get a chance in the No. 2 spot versus Justin Verlander.

Carlos Gomez (rib cage) will begin a minor league rehab assignment Tuesday with Double-A Corpus Christi.

Gomez landed on the disabled list earlier this month with a bruised left rib cage. He's not eligible to return until the beginning of June, but getting a bunch of at-bats in the minors isn't the worst idea for him. He's batting just .182 with a .486 OPS in 34 games this season.

Astros OF prospect Teoscar Hernandez clubbed four hits including three doubles Monday in a win for Double-A Corpus Christi.

He plated four runs, giving him nine RBI in his last nine games. Hernandez has had a productive month, hitting .338 with a .400 OBP in May. The 23-year-old leads the Texas League with 15 steals and is fifth in walks with 22. Hernandez has made huge strides this year after batting only .219 in 121 games for the Hooks last season.

Mariners 3B prospect D.J. Peterson finished a triple shy of the cycle Monday in a win for Double-A Jackson.

White Sox INF prospect Nick Delmonico launched two homers Monday in a win for Double-A Birmingham.

The 23-year-old has now gone deep five times in his last six games. He leads the Southern League with 10 homers and is second in RBI with 31. He also leads the league in batting average (.338), slugging percentage (.676) and OPS (1.073). Delmonico only needs three more homers to match his career-high set in 2013. Back then, he was in the Orioles' farm system playing for High-A Frederick.
