Gerrit Cole was charged with five earned runs over 6 1/3 innings Monday in a no-decision versus the Dodgers.

Cole hung zeros until the top of the seventh, when the first-place Dodgers exploded for five runs on three singles, a walk, and a big grand slam off the bat of Curtis Granderson. Cole left to a chorus of boos at PNC Park after spoiling a 3-0 lead and Pittsburgh eventually lost the game in extra innings. The right-hander has a disappointing 4.16 ERA in 26 starts this season. He'll face the Reds on the road next.

A.J. Pollock hit a go-ahead two-run homer in the top of the 10th inning Monday as the Diamondbacks defeated the Mets 3-2.

It proved to be a huge home run for the Wild Card-hunting Diamondbacks after Michael Conforto answered with a solo shot off Fernando Rodney in the bottom of the 10th. Pollock isn't having a very good August overall and is up to just six home runs in 79 games this season, but the dynamic 29-year-old center fielder certainly possesses the goods to finish strong down the stretch.

Andrew Albers gave up four runs (three earned) over five-plus innings in a 6-5 win over the Braves on Monday.

Albers allowed two runs over the first five innings before getting chased when the first two batters reached base in the sixth. They ultimately each came around to score. Albers fanned three and walked one in the victory. He has done a respectable job in back-to-back starts, but we wouldn’t bank on it continuing against the Yankees this weekend at Yankee Stadium.

Fernando Rodney notched his 28th save of the year on Monday night against the Mets.

Rodney surrendered a solo homer to Michael Conforto in the bottom of the 10th but was ultimately able to ice a 3-2 extra-innings victory for the visiting Diamondbacks. The veteran closer is sporting a rough 4.91 ERA in 40 1/3 innings this season, but he technically hasn't blown a save since July 6.

Mike Foltynewicz was knocked around for six runs over 5 2/3 innings in a loss to the Mariners on Monday.

It wasn’t too long ago that Foltynewicz appeared on the verge of a breakout, but he has now allowed five earned runs or more in four out of his last five starts. His ERA has jumped from 3.82 to 4.95 in that time. He can’t be trusted in mixed fantasy leagues right now.

Edwin Diaz tossed a scoreless ninth inning Monday against the Braves for his 28th save of the season.

Diaz gave up a leadoff single to Ender Inciarte, but he was eventually thrown out stealing. The hard-throwing right-hander ended up throwing just five pitches in the frame. Diaz has looked rather shaky recently, but he has converted each of his last nine save chances.

Yonder Alonso finished 3-for-5 with three RBI and two runs scored in Monday’s win over the Braves.

Alonso played two runs with a double in the fourth inning and doubled home another run in the sixth. He’s now batting .318 (14-for-44) through his first 12 games with Seattle.

Ozzie Albies went 2-for-4 with a two-run triple and two runs scored Monday versus the Mariners.

The triple got the Braves back into things in the bottom of the sixth inning, but their rally ultimately fell short. Albies is hitting just .224 with a .274 on-base percentage through his first 19 games in the majors, but he has three multi-hit games in his last five. He also has three triples in that timespan.
