Mike Foltynewicz allowed five earned runs, seven hits and a walk with four strikeouts over four innings in a loss in San Francisco on Saturday.

The shabby outing snapped a three-game winning streak, dropping his May record to 3-2 with a 6.12 ERA. He has served up nine homers over 50 2/3 innings this season while posting a respectable 41 strikeouts. Foltynewicz has shown some glimpses of brilliance, but he is on a poor team and too inconsistent to rely upon outside of deeper NL-only formats.

Trevor Story went 1-for-4 in Saturday's game against the Cardinals.

Story has hit safely in each of his past four games since coming off the 10-day disabled list. It isn't much, but he is 4-for-14 (.286) with two doubles, a homer and two RBI during the four-game run. He was a feel-good story in 2016, but so far he has been a big disappointment in 2017 with a dismal .192 batting average.

Ian Desmond went 2-for-4 in Saturday's loss against the Cardinals.

Desmond extended his hitting streak to five games and he has hit safely in 13 of the past 15 outings. He missed most of the first month due to a hand injury, but he is back and hitting for a respectable .284 average. Desmond has lacked a bit of the power displayed last season in Texas, but you can expect it to return over time, especially in the rarefied air in Denver.
May 28 - 2:50 AM

Kyle Freeland allowed three earned runs, eight hits and two walks with four strikeouts over six innings in a loss against the Cardinals on Saturday.

Freeland wasn't terrible in this one, but Adam Wainwright was nearly untouchable on the other side. He has posted six quality starts over the past seven outings and is worth a roster spot in most fantasy leagues. He'll look to get back into the win column next Thursday in Seattle.
May 28 - 2:41 AM

Tommy Pham finished 3-for-4 with a two-run home run and a walk in Saturday's win in Colorado.

Pham was in the lineup with Stephen Piscotty tending to a personal matter, and he continues to produce. He has amassed six hits over his past 10 at-bats and is slashing .339/.411/.597 over 62 at-bats. However, once Piscotty is back you can expect Pham's playing time to dry up.
May 28 - 2:38 AM

Seung Hwan Oh worked around a single allowed in a scoreless ninth inning with two strikeouts Saturday in Colorado for his 11th save of the season.

The South Korean has bounced back nicely with two scoreless appearances over 2 1/3 innings after blowing a save against the Giants on May 19. He has allowed just two earned runs over 18 1/3 innings across his past 16 appearances. Oh remains a Top 10 closer in all fantasy formats.
May 28 - 2:31 AM

Adam Wainwright allowed three hits and a walk over seven scoreless innings while recording six strikeouts in a win Saturday at Colorado.

Wainwright has won three straight starts, posting an impressive 0.44 ERA with just 12 hits and eight walks allowed while striking out 15 over 20 1/3 innings. He has won each of his past five decisions in seven outings dating back to his last defeat on April 16. Waino is back to being an ace after a sluggish start.
May 28 - 2:27 AM

John Jaso finished 2-for-2 with a pair of RBI in Saturday's win against the Mets.

Jaso came on as a pinch hitter in the ninth inning and delivered an RBI single to force extra innings. He also singled home the winning run in the bottom of the 10th to send the Steel City crowd home happy. Jaso has picked up the pace with six hits over his past 15 at-bats, raising his average from .176 to .210 just since May 21.
