Robert Griffin III (shoulder) is probable for Week 17 against the Cowboys.

RGIII was limited in practice this week but is good to go as a legit QB1 streaming option in the finale. He's one of our favorite daily-league plays of the week.

Steven Jackson (quad) is listed as questionable for Week 17 against the Panthers.

The Falcons try to be pretty secretive with their injury designations, but most signs point to Jackson missing the all-important finale vs. Carolina. Devonta Freeman is expected to get the bulk of the touches in the backfield with Jacquizz Rodgers mixing in as the change-up back. Freeman has some RB2/3 appeal.

Alex Smith has been ruled out for Week 17 against the Chargers with a lacerated spleen.

Smith was hurt in Week 16, but played through it and practiced earlier this week. He went to the training staff and said he didn't feel right. The injury was revealed, and Chase Daniel is now in the saddle as the starting quarterback in an extremely important finale against San Diego. In order to make the playoffs, the Chiefs need to win and have the Texans and Ravens lose. Much like Smith, Daniel is a game manager with a weak arm and plus athleticism. Smith needs six weeks to recover and likely wouldn't be available until the Super Bowl.

ESPN Patriots reporter Mike Reiss thinks James White could be the team's pass-catching back in 2015.

With Shane Vereen scheduled to become a free agent in March, White could make the leap in 2015. The 130th pick in May's draft was standout in OTAs and minicamp, but couldn't put it together in the preseason and has played just 27 offensive snaps as a rookie. The Patriots are still high on White. He's a player to target in Dynasty leagues with his value at the lowest it's been.

The Giants expect Larry Donnell to take another big leap forward in 2015.

Per ESPN's Dan Graziano, the Giants believe in Donnell as a long-term starting tight end. They think he'll "develop into a dynamic player who is a huge part of Ben McAdoo's offense." Donnell got off to a torrid start to the season, scoring six touchdowns the first 11 weeks. But the past five games, Donnell has averaged just three catches for 32 yards per game with zero scores. With Victor Cruz returning to full health behind Odell Beckham in 2015, Donnell should be no higher than No. 3 in line for targets. He'll have to make his hay in the red zone.

Julio Jones (oblique) returned to practice Friday.

He's listed as questionable but is going to play Sunday with the NFC South on the line against the Panthers. Jones isn't 100 percent but will be peppered with targets.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports Drew Stanton (knee) underwent surgery to clear an infection and may miss the remainder of the season.

The infection was discovered Wednesday, and Stanton immediately underwent surgery. Prior to that, he had been recovering well from his sprained MCL and ACL with an eye on returning for the Wild Card Round of the playoffs. The Cardinals will be forced to ride Ryan Lindley as a far as he can take them, which will likely be one-and-done in the postseason. It's a shame for an 11-4 team.
Dec 26 - 11:06 AM

Ravens RT Rick Wagner (injured reserve) underwent Lisfranc foot surgery on Wednesday.

Wagner is staring at a 5-6 month recovery and should be ready in time for training camp next summer. As a sophomore, Wagner graded out as Pro Football Focus' No. 1 right tackle at the time of his injury in Week 16. The Ravens will turn to UDFA James Hurst opposite LT Eugene Monroe the remainder of the year.
