Preston Parker is expected to take over as the Giants' third receiver after Jerrel Jernigan's year-ending foot injury.

The G-Men are turning to journeyman slot-receiver type Parker over UDFA Corey Washington. Parker returns punts, so perhaps he now has some value in return-yardage league. Parker will be the No. 5 option in New York's passing game, behind Larry Donnell, Victor Cruz, Rueben Randle, and Rashad Jennings.

The Akron Beacon Journal suggests Jordan Cameron (shoulder) "probably has a good shot at playing" in Week 3 against Baltimore.

Cameron returned to a limited practice Wednesday after sitting out all of last week. "[My shoulder] feels good," Cameron said after the practice. "It feels better. ... I’m going to wake up in the morning, and we’ll take it from there." Cameron aggravated an August shoulder injury on a 47-yard reception in the Browns' opener. Cameron finished 2013 with 80 catches for 917 yards and seven touchdowns, going to the Pro Bowl as a 25-year-old first-year starter. When healthy, he is an elite fantasy tight end.

Carson Palmer (shoulder) was limited in Cardinals practice Wednesday.

This doesn't really help us guess Palmer's status because he was reported at "limited" in practice all last week, but beat writers said he didn't even throw. And he was inactive against the Giants. Palmer's availability for Week 3 is entirely up in the air. Drew Stanton could be in line for another start.

Cardinals deactivated RB Jonathan Dwyer for Week 3.

Dwyer was arrested on charges of domestic violence and aggravated assault for two incidents in July. Stepfan Taylor will take over as the Cardinals' No. 2 back.

CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora reports multiple teams have reached out to free agent BenJarvus Green-Ellis.

Green-Ellis is still rehabbing a hip injury he suffered in the preseason. He was released by the Bengals during final cuts and remains unsigned. The Ravens and Vikings are among the teams that have expressed interest.

Zach Miller (ankle) didn't practice Wednesday.

The Seahawks are hoping Miller can return to practice later this week. He remains off the fantasy radar.
Sep 17 - 7:15 PM

Marshawn Lynch (back) did not practice Wednesday.

Lynch exited Week 2 due to ongoing back issues. His status shouldn't be in danger for Sunday's matchup with the Broncos. Lynch has 146 yards and three total touchdowns through two games.
Sep 17 - 7:09 PM

Panthers RB Fozzy Whittaker (quad) did not practice Wednesday.

Whittaker is not expected to be available for Sunday night's game against the Steelers. The Panthers are listing him as "week to week."
